“Athanasius’ identification of deification with adoptive sonship follows the earliest patristic tradition and is continued in later Fathers, such as St Cyril of Alexandria and St Maximus the Confessor. It is likewise integral to the theology of St Augustine of Hippo, who closely resembles St Athanasius in this regard. This patristic teaching concerning theosis is essentially evangelical theology, a facet of the apostolic and biblical message concerning the person of Jesus Christ and his saving work. There is no false mystification or obscurantism here, no esotericism, and no spiritual elitism whatsoever. Deification, according to Orthodox teaching, is no more and no less than the adoptive sonship proclaimed by the Apostle Paul: our acceptance and recognition by the Father as his sons by grace, in and through our incorporation into his only-begotten Son by nature, Jesus Christ, in his body, the Church, by way of the Spirit of sonship-the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” - Fr. Wonderful presentation! The film content really enhances the ideas you're communicating; whoever's doing your video editing is doing a phenomenal job. Really beautiful work, capturing the perfect tone and atmosphere for this subject matter, evoking mystery and reverence. @@MaximusWolfe it sounds very similar to the notion of soul and supersoul wherein the individual soul is identical to the supersoul like a drop of the ocean is to the entire ocean yet still doesn’t lose its identity while united in love to god the Supersoul. It’s not Adveita Vedanta though, it’s Dveita. Also the breath techniques of the mantra Jesus prayer moving the prayer to the heart chakra is very Hindu yogaish. Very pagan.

The light was uncreated? This idea of theb uncreated did not originate from the scriptures.

It absolutely does. When God dwells in the temple, light descends and fills it. You need to read into the text that the light is just a symbol or creature.

@@Seraphim-Hamilton according to revelation in God's city (when there is no longer need for the Temple) there is no sin due to the presence of the Father and the Son. Symbol and creature?? Not going to read something in that isn't there unless we are somehow saying the same thing?

There is not much uniquely "orthodox" in this video. Except for the claim that Moses shined with the uncreated light. What Biblical or Patristic evidence do you have for that claim?

One more thing, what do you is it that makes the Humanity of Christ in the Hypostatic union to receive the same glory and worship as the divinity. Do you think that we worship an analogically glorified humanity in Christ, or does it really have absolutely the same honor as the divinity? Just saying that "because of Hypostatic union" will be vague, as I'm talking about the mode in which the flesh of Christ is actually the flesh of the Divine Word in the Eucharist and not of a mere dude whose body receives the analogical worship and has created, analogical glory merely *similar* to the worship and riches of the Deity. Otherwise, the eating the Eucharist would be equivalent to eating an every-day food. What is so special in the Eucharist and so life-giving, if this is the case?

@@OrthosAlexandros Because we can know from the natural light of reason that only the Divine nature is uncreated, but that nature cannot be seen with our eyes. There is also patristic backing for this - both St Hilary and St Augustine say that all theophanies in the Old Testament were God's created effects.
