Using my Denon Prime 4 and Prime go with Engine DJ and have never looked back, built in touch screens and os and play off flash drives, the installed SSD, or even run it as a controller with Virtual DJ if you don't like the built in software. Peace out Serato with my old Numark NS7iii

I experienced the same problem using a brand new pioneer srt1000 controller with Serato 3.0. The music kept crashing thinking water poured over the controller. Now, I know it is the Serato 3.0. Thank you for this video. You made my day.

I would try another device without Ventura. I have not had any problems personally. I just used it at a concert earlier this evening. Used stems damn near every transition. I get that it says compatible with Ventura, I usually wait till I don’t see videos like this or just stay one OS behind the current flavor.

I played for 5 hours last Friday, and 2 gigs of 2 hours each on Saturday and for another 3 hours on Sunday and I didn't have any problems. I'm using the latest official version of Serato DJ, a Macbook Pro m1 2020 with 8gb ram and 256gb storage. I use a 1tb External Hard Drive, Tidal streaming function, Phase DJ in HID mode and a DJM S11. Despite having no problems, I always monitor my system, especially the ram, and I see that the pressure on it is always in the yellow (alert state), when the live stems mode is activated. I always leave spotiligh indexing disabled and close any program that is not needed, including those running in the background of the operating system. After that, I still go to the Terminal and eliminate any excess ram that is in the Cache before starting Serato by typing the command "sudo purge". I used to do these steps because my previous notebook was a Macbook Air, with Intel Core i5 1.6 ghz. Changing the screen refresh rate from 60fps to 30fps or less in Serato also helps not to overload the ram too much. I hope this can help you and that you can understand my English, because I'm from Brazil and I haven't been practicing it much lately.

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Serato, I’ve been running Cerrado since day one…. I’ve never had the issues. I’m having now., im 4 to 5 gigs a week every week I’m experiencing a one to 2 second audio dropout, about every 20 minutes… I like you have never had this issue. And it’s driving me nuts to fix it. I thought it was a latency issue.

DJs ran out to get the M1's and M2's just to DJ on...and they aren't cutting it. 2012 MBP running 3.0 with zero issues. Good luck out there.

Remember when the SL boxes + WiFi on would occasionally cause an audio drop and lag? Wonder if it’s something funky like that all over again. 😂 Im running an older mbp and holding until I get a new one next year to move over to 3.0 at gigs. Hopefully we’ll have a few updates by then fixing things like this too. No issues running it at home tho. Proof once again it’s very important to have several versions of serato on your computer ready to rock.

I have two computers; one I installed 3.0 and the other I didn't. I tried to be creative with the 3.0 and serato freezed. Now I have two options: walk with two computers or switch completely to another DJ software.

To be honest I’d switch software for live use… I’d only use Serato at home for recording … my opinion… Even if Serato 3.0 is working.. it degrades the original engineered sound quality too much and sound like bad mp3 file anyway… I can’t sound like that live.. no way!!!

Hey man! I’ve been using Serato stems in conjunction with my DDJ 1000 controller. Since the day it came out really have no problem with it. I have a feeling it might be one or a combination of two things, the latest iOS and/or your turntable controllers… Good luck brother! Love the video!

I'm a bit heated about this new serato as well; the issue i'm having is that it takes forever when loading a track on a deck...it's always writing tags. it is so annoying and so slow. that never happened until after i upgraded to this 3.0 stems nonsense 🤬

The clip at the beginning wasn't even a full crash. I had to restart Serato 3.0 twice now. It froze and stayed frozen on my M1 MacBook Air.

Same thing happens to me...except my dropout requires me to reload serato, one side of my controller goes Dead...middle of the event...happend 4 back to back events 3 to 4 times an event..last 2 events have to have a track on ready on KZbin through an Aux...been searching for answers for 2 months...NOTHING currently afraid to book new events

No issues on my Pioneer DDJ-SZ. Running older laptop. 2013 Dell Precision m4800 2X 1TB SSD. Music 95% on my secondary storage SSD. RAM maxout 32GB. i7 quadcore 2.8GHz, turbo up to 3.8GHz. I can run stems pretty good. First i have to load the tracks and wait stems load 5-8secs. If not analyze. I know S11 takes slightly more cpu than my SZ. Still can haul it.

You just have to update the IOS to Ventura 13 and it will prevent the crashes. Plus make sure you have the newest MacBook Pro.

​@@officialJonDivine From your screenshot you're running Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1. The latest build is 13.1 which has a bunch of improvements. I would update to that and see if you're still getting crashes. Apple -> System Settings -> General -> Software Update. If it crashes again, send your dump files to Serato so they can investigate.

I was DJing this past saturday at a 15 for 8 Hours. I had my serato 3.0 crash on me that I had to reboot my computer. I use a SR2 with a 2021 14" MacBook pro with the same specs you have but running Monterey as my IOS. I have also everything up to date and I was running Sound switch when it crash. When I rebooted my laptop, I first open Soundswitch and then Serato so they could read off of eachother. The audio started sounded weird coming out of my main speakers. My headphones were playing the audio without having any cue pushed in and I have them on cue and not on master. I restarted my laptop 2 more times but the third time, I didn't open up soundswitch and the audio was working fine and didn't have a problem with it for the rest of the 6 hours of the night. I tried reduplicate the problem the next day when I was home and I couldn't do it at all.

Easy fix for serato 3.0: move to Virtual DJ 2023 😊 I've had no problems whatsoever with a i5, 8GB ram, RTX 1650 gpu. Stability, performance and better stems sound quality.

@Ruben Armas tell that to Nick Spinelli, king of the the Serato Fanboy Club LMFAO. my DJ computer is a 2016 NUC i5 mini PC 16gb ram. It has no problem running VDJ stems 1.0. CPU spikes during stems processing and I do get audio glitch if I play/audition the next track but I just wait for the processing to finish before cueing up the next track and I'm straight, no audio glitch. But I would need a new computer with the proper GPU in order to get real-time stems with VDJ STEMS 2.0. But really, I'm good with VDJ Stems 1.0, DJing is just a hobby for me.

I have also had the issues with Serato 3.0. I am using an MSi Katana gamer PC, with 16gb RAM, and a Pioneer REV7 controller. Serato actually freezes up on my screen with the music still playing through the controller. Luckily I have my MacBook Air to back it up if this should occur. Doesn’t happen every set, but this weekend it actually froze and shut down Serato completely! I’m going to attempt to upgrade my RAM to see if this fixes the problem. Thank you for your video! Good to know it’s not just me having this issue. I’ve never had this issue since I’ve had my SL1!

I have a macbook pro 2017 i5, 8go and after several tracks serato started glitching and freezing and running very hot (redlining in the top right corner of serato) so I had to increase the BUFFER SIZE to 20ms, that fixed the issue but still I want to play with it smoothly without problems during a set

So I've been running a lot of test with this over the last few weeks (I haven't touched my gear since before the summer so I had no idea 3.0 had dropped let alone had stems) what I have found is that you really need an over-speced laptop to run this with no hic-ups. I borrowed a mac book pro from my buddy which had the same specs as yours (M1 pro with 16gigs of RAM) and it couldn't keep up with me. However it runs like a dream on my high-end gaming laptop (a modified Helios 700) which is rocking a 9th gen i9 processor and 64 gigs of RAM. I was running 4 tracks at once, 2-4 stems running in real-time plus my drum machine and while it did eat up some heavy resources I had just enough of a hardware buffer to make it work. I jammed out 3 hours or more at a time with my buds to put things through their paces and we did this about 6 times over the last few weeks. Mac book choked each time while my Helios 700 took it like a champ. Now I will say this, when prepping the stems ahead of time the mac book had no issues. It mainly had problems when doing real-time analyzing and processing stems on the fly. hopefully for everyone the dev team is optimizing the feature so its not bogging down our laptops as much in the future cuz I know not everyone is ok with having a big heavy ass laptop like mine.

I have an ASUS with a i7 processor laptop i only use it for djing.. I have the rane one controller. Had it since it dropped no issues.. tried serato 3.0 at a gig. Worked great until the 3rd hour in.. it glitched constantly.. not sure if my pc got too hot or what.. my limiter stayed red. glad the event was ending.. as I packed up I reinstalled the previous serato version.. I played with it the night before and ran my latency.. it was ok but I didn't think it would do that.. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ I'll wait till the bugs are out..

Same thing is happening to me but the opposite versions 3.0 to 3.0.3 works perfect when I go above 3.0.3 to the newest one that is out today it does not work. I move a song into the deck and I get rainbow loading circle the. The program crashes. It does not do this with 3.0.0 to 3.0.3. It’s horrible. Great safe by the way!

It happened to me as well, but I was running an older MacOS system. I updated to Monterey 12.6.2 and had an event and it crashed on me 4 times! I quickly put a spotify on and downloaded Serato 2.5.7 and it stopped crashing the rest of the night. I just bought a new MacBook Pro and will see how it goes with Ventura 🤞🏼

I’ve run window 10 icore 5 with 1tb hard drive never since 2015 have I looked beck. Now I crap bricks as I serve a radio station and it is getting worse since update 3.0.1. Cpu runs stupid, audio drop outs a lot, when nothing before no additional hardware or software added .😢😢😢I posted on serato facebook the problem but admins have taken my post down. Nothing offensive. I was playing recently in the Club, and my Serato just froze completely wave forms weren't moving. Could not even scroll through my library. I has the apple multi coloured wheel pop up and Serato would not load. I had stems running and Tidal. Maybe it was my cpu, or maybe The new update. Who's knows?

I had my first crash in years last Friday. I was 4 hours into my set and hit the stems to analyze a track and Serato just crashed no message or anything. The music cut out and took me about 30 seconds to open Serato again and get going, I stop using stems for the rest of the night and no issues after. The next night on Saturday I did not use stems once and no crashes. I love using stems and it's been so fun but Im thinking of rolling it back before stems. Currently running a 2019 15inch Macbook Pro 12.6 OS with a i9 and 32gigs of ram on a REV7. Serato DJ Pro is on 3.0.1 been debating updating to 3.0.3 but just afraid of a repeat. I just sold my 2012 macbook pro, but who wants to bring a second laptop around though. Jon have you heard anything back from Serato? Wanted to see if you got any progress before opening a support ticket and going down the checklist with support.

you need more than 16GB of ram, that is the reason why you are have this issue. I was having the same issue until I upgraded ram and works fine. on their site, it says 15GB or higher and that's just for serato not for other software or even the OS.

I’ve been seeing this a lot with controllers, not so much your type of setup. But maybe it had something to do with using the phase and stems together . (I’m seeing this happened when it’s trying to load the stems or separate the stems live, but if you happen to do it prior it’s just going to make more tracks on you HD) Maybe just a HUGE overload. I haven’t upgraded to 3.0 but still have an older MacBook Pro that probably won’t support it anyway lol.

Man I hear y’all I’m cool where I am not updating to something unreliable til the bugs are worked out. What I have has been good enough to keep my clients happy plus have peace of mind. I didn’t build my business to be set back by updates because your audience don’t care what software or computer you have the end result is a fantastic event. Mine started glitching once I downloaded Beta version of stems. Same issues as yours so I immediately went back to the previous version of Serato only for the same issues to continue once 3.0 was released, I once again download it, however the problems continued. I started to get the same issues., Serato pro was glitching then crashing, you name it. So freaking frustrating, I tried contacting Serato to ask for help, but after they checked my Laptop specs to make sure my laptop was capable of running their program nothing, They too, could not find a solution to my problem.

Man, I feel your pain on this one. There is nothing scarier than doing a gig and constantly worrying if your gear is gonna fail or not. Revert back to an earlier version until they fix that issue. I use VDJ, so no issues here, but still the Serato people need to fix this!

I have experience such issues as while.. I was so embarrass don't know even what to do at that point. Playing a wedding reception when the bride and groom were dancing in my serato just freeze at that point i didn't know what to do because i haven't experience such before i have to call the mc of the event to do something while i fix it up. After that i got home delete the update and went back to use the old update.

I get a few but they never come back, I usually catch it before I play the song live while I'm getting the next track ready. Using I7 Windows 16 Gig FLX6 I have to reload the track 3-4 times to fix the track. Odd enough the wave form is still there just no sound.

Is your computer up to date? I use Serato 3.0 in my practice sessions and I haven't had any dropouts or problems....

Good video. My season isn't done yet. I was going to upgrade to ventura and 3.0 in January. I guess I won't be doing that.

Do you keep all your music files on your computer or do you use hard drives? Usually if your computer has a lot of GBs allocated and/or a lot of apps on it then I would see why it crashes

Same problem over here in Austria, I bought a new fast Windows 11 laptop to use Serato 3.0 and stems on, but Serato is freezing or crashing within minutes or hours. And I don't know why. Now I'm using Sersto 2.6 again.

Are you using an external drive? Possible it’s the external esp if it’s not an SSD. Have had no issues with ssd external however def had this happen with a seagate external before 3.0 even.

I have a sub spec laptop and have not had this issue at all playing live. Have you made sure your drivers and firmware are properly updated? I've also hear that if on a Mac, go ahead and upgrade to Ventura 13

I've updated the firmware for my S9 and already updated to Ventura when using stems. All are resulting in this video.

I believe serato will only read MP3, AIFF, WAV and MP4 files. I would recommend using a file conversion system. Platinum Notes by capital plugins may be a good option!

Have a big Wedding on New Years. Now I'm nervous. May need to install the old version. I haven't had much problems with 3.0 when I was playing for a couple hours at home. It did crash once right after opening it, but no problems while playing music. (With Phase, Turntables, and Rane 70)

Suffered similar challenges with my MacBook 2012 late edition running os Catalina with core i7 16 ram during a company Christmas party really hates myself for it but picked up afterwards with an alternative system that is running older serato DJ version

I was wondering about the 2 updates (Ventura & Serato). I have also a Mac Pro 22 So this is what I did in order to avoid the silence issue: I didn’t update to Ventura and just updated the Serato t3.0.3. Played in my gig for 4.5 hours with not interruption or silence moment at all. I guess since Ventura is new , Serato will have to sync and fix ani issues with Ventura So my advice, update to Serato 3.0.3 but not to Ventura yet. Hope this helps. DjGio LtnMxx

Yeah Man!! I'm using a 2019 MBP running on Monterey and it would crash with audio drop outs every so often . Now i have my 2015 MBP running serato 2.5.12 as a backup by just switching usb over on my pioneer S11. Normally, i just use one laptop just to dj and now this 3.0 i would need backup. UggggHHH!!

Make sure you have the latest driver for the S9 from Pioneer. Also if you are using a hub or adapter to connect your S9 to your Mac, get rid of that and use a USB B to C cable. The hubs and adapters can cause your exact issue. I have an M1 Air with Ventura and M1 Pro, both with 16gb, and no issues whatsoever with 3.0
