Nice video! But I find your comparison of the instrumental a bit unfair, since you have switched of Kick HiHat and Drums as well in VDJ. In my brief testings so far I find the performance pretty similar on both. Depending on the track or even passage the one or other does better.

Totally agree the studio versions are supreme but there is a few key benefits to the stems versions I find, the ability to load one track and just sample in and out as you wish for really creative mixes, or do vocal juggles using only 2 channels (you would traditionally need from 2 up to 4 to achieve this), but for me the most convenient one is just Beatgridding and beat matching an accapella to another instrumental. With stems you can beat grid/match to the original track and the accapella is aligned correctly, too easy. Going back to only needing 2 channels, imo, is a really fundamental direction for modern djing to go. 4 channels has always been for the big professional hardware but those extra channels have always only been to achieve our musical goals that were restricted by 2 channels, as we reduce this need for the extra channels we can focus more on playing good music for people.

Why don't you try to compare the Virtual DJ Stems 2.0 with the Serato's 3.0?

They both still sounds robotic and like a 128 or less bit rate file. Unusable on a good sound system. Nope not for me. (VDJ user for over 15 years and sticking to it)

what's strange is that with the 3.0 beta, there's crashes due to massive memory leak on both Intel and M1 machines, while apple's de facto DJ software - algoriddim's DJPro AI is stable on an iPad or iPhone!

My question is this...when this is enabled and not being used does it affect the overall audio quality of tracks in full form? I'm going to disable it in software tonight and see if it sounds better than last 2 nights. I also feel like there is a slight delay in controller response to playback and gain\eq\slider control? Can anyone give me some feedback on this? I'm using rekord btw

@@dimitrov.nikolay there's really no argument who is doing stems better at this point. It's been admitted and recognized by unbiased youtube reviewers who don't use vdj as their dj software, but they can be honest.

😂Buddy, your "parameter bleed" on VDJ it's set to 0%, you need to adjust that to your liking, it also depends on your computer processing. Now, not all songs are produced in the same way. you will always find or hear some reverberation or delayed bleeding or canceled frequencies and from what I heard. I can say that your settings in VDJ are not set up correctly, it seems that you only use Serato and yes, it's night and day on your video, for those who are starting to be dj or you are a dj who only does what you get from them. You need to go beyond that. Serato is a simple program if you learned. You want to be a good DJ, don't let programs to fool you. I just saw a RAW image versus a JPEG image. You got my 👍 and subscribed.

Let DJs have true multi-tracks, stems, and WAV files from now on. WAVs/higher quality MP4s should help stem separation and overall sound quality on big systems.

VirtualDJ added Stem Creator for users to create their own precomputed stems -OR use pre-produced stem files from the studio if you can get them from say beatport - as of build 7131 in early September
