I came across on the Internet these wonderful pearls of Romanian folklore from Boju, a small settlement where my mother grew up - her father being for a time the Greek-Catholic priest of this village located between Cluj and Turda. The dances from Boju were from the repertoire of an extraordinary "Dor Transilvan" Ensemble from Cluj-Napoca. With my Mother's memories in mind, I allowed myself to make a piano arrangement, making some little changes in the harmonic plan and the formal structure - but explicitly indicating in the title of the attached score the folkloric source of the quoted songs: the "Dor Transilvan" Ensemble's collection. I thus followed the example of the great composer Bela Bartok, who composed the famous "Romanian Dances" based on the citation of the folkloric songs also exhibited in his famous collection of Romanian folklore.
