Ova pesma nije bajka, ima pozadinu stradanja srpskog naroda u Prvom svetskom ratu. Ramon da je cvet koji se dize iz pepela i dovoljna je samo kap vode da bi dozivela. Pesma poci je sa morem i stenama koji predstavljaju Plavu grobnicu, mesto u moru gde su za vreme Prvog svetskog rata 2/3 srpski boraca sahranjeno. I mi kao narod smo vaskrsli. She said in the interview after the finals that the performance will be changed in Malmo (in a good way) because they couldn’t do certain things in RTS studio so I really hope that on the big stage in Sweden it will be even more powerful and impactful. The thing I love the most here is that she wrote the lyrics and also was included in making the song - that’s why you feel it is honest and so connected with her! If anyone is interested, here is an analysis: 1. Ramonda is a rare purple flower that grows on Mount Rtanj in Serbia and is known as the “Phoenix flower”. It can survive in harsh environments and can “revive” itself after dehydrating with only a drop of water. It was used as a symbol of the Serbian people in WW1 during which Serbia lost 1/4 of its population. 2. There are several lines in the lyrics that reference the famous exodus of the Serbian people (along with the king and the army) who travelled by foot over Montenegrin and Albanian mountains to Greece in harsh winter of 1915. Around 240.000 people died on the journey and were buried at sea in a Greek Island in what is known as “The Blue Tomb”. The line “there, under the water, everything is dead silent” is a reference to that. Furthermore, another line states “there’s nobody left to guide me towards the morning star” again symbolizing the life in them fading as well as the fading hope of the Serbian people and utter desperation that we would perish in the war. Then you have “The world burns, every flower dies, where have the purple Ramondas vanished” = where have all the Serbs gone? The song ends with “A single purple Ramonda rises from the ashes” symbolizing hope and just like the Ramonda flower resurrects, so do the Serbs.

Perun = the highest Slavic God that controls thunder, storms, and lighting Ramonda = rare flower 🌸 native to Serbia, very sturdy plant that can be found in harsh rocky surfaces and can be revived by a drop of water. Symbol of WWI victims and soldiers. Equivalent of the poppy flower in UK, Canada and other Commonwealth countries. Danica or the morning star (planet Venus) is another Slavic symbol of new beginning or the beginning of a new day. In Serbia epic poetry Danica is a sister of the Sun or sometimes the Moon.
