So for some weird reason, all the videos that I uploaded related to this episode got hit by KZbin Kids now. I'm going to miss all the positive comments you guys have posted. I enjoyed reading them. I'm happy that these videos gained popularity which is unexpected but it's good to see that many fans still cared about Serena's character and the Pokemon anime. I'm just uploading videos for fun and want to continue doing that even if KZbin mark these videos for kids. Seeing you guys enjoying the videos makes me as happy as you so I hope you have fun with the videos while you can.
At least I won't have to worry about unnecessary ship wars and hate comments lol no I don't hate any characters in the anime.

​@crimsonmaverick8237 tbf Ash is confusing. The first 4 gens fit together well and he continued to grow. Then in gen 5 he was dumber than in gen 1. Then in gen 6 he was smarter than he had ever been. Then in gen 7 he went back on all of that and became gen 1 Ash again but nicer. I never watched gen 8 but from what I've seen he was alright in that it's just that gen 5 and 7 really messed up his character growth

@andrew Just compare Serena in XY at 0:15 to Serena in Journeys at 0:34. The sharper edges and more mature look makes the scene between Ash and Serena feel much more “authentic”. I understand that they changed the art style because it’s smoother and it allows more freedom with the animation (particularly with battles), and it’s much better than the art style in Sun and Moon, but man the XY art style was just perfect in my opinion.

This episode makes me so happy. They way they handle her character and growth, respectfully making it feel like natural progression to the Serena we knew in Kalos, while also keeping that lightning in a bottle, nostalgic girl next door, caring energy that we remember her for, just warms me inside. She feels like an actual living, breathing person, and one that feels like/earns your respect, even if your only exposure to her is just from this episode. 10/10, perfect character return and seriously carried this episode from what would’ve been a 6/10 to a solid 9-10/10 (as her appearance actually helps fix some of the episodes downsides, as Ash’s and Wallace’s battle being off screen now feels more like a showing of his character, with Serena reflecting the rest/filling in the gaps in between.) Arguably, the episode is as much an episode about Chloe’s character and Serena’s character as well as Ash’s character. Ash inspire(d/s) Serena who uses that inspiration to help inspire Chloe. In a way, we get to delve into the maturer mentor and inspirational side of Ash in this episode. It’s done really well. Because of this, it makes the (albeit brief) interaction between the two at the end of the episode carry even more weight than it already was going to, and they pulled it off perfectly. That said, I do wish they made time for another episode later in the series that focused more on Ash and Serena interacting (similar to Dawn and Ash getting more stronger interactions later on). If anything, this episode made me root for Serena and Ash to actually become a thing mainly because of how alive Serena is as a character, which makes you want for her to be happy. (And honestly, I don’t want heavy romance stuff in the show, but just a small simple thing like them hanging out and laughing together and just really enjoying each other’s company, and then one shot of the two holding hands casually while chatting with the group. That’s it, some small simple things that implies a closer relationship. Nothing more really needed)

They'll get upset once they see Ash interact with Penny and Nemona soon since some people still care about shipping more than actual character progression 😶

Although this episode was really heartwarming and all, I'd like to point out that the creators literally stalled ash when he had the chance to meet serena durung Chloe's performance. It so heartbreaking when knwing that tbe two completely ignored that they have kissed in the last episode of xyz and was given only around 1 minute of interaction time together before never seeing each other again in the series.

I love what they did in the episode what I don’t like is they had Ash fight Wallace I felt like that was a really dumb choice to make. He miss Serena when he had so much time with his other friends and barely any time with her. I’m glad they were still serious about their love. It's so sad and painful... it's even more sad to see this fandom doesn't care about Pokemon because this video skyrocketed over 100k views overnight just because of Amourshipping and I get over 1k subscribers who don't care about my videos unless it's Serena. That wasn't my intention, I just wanted to bring up a reference for goodness sake. This makes me regret even more to be part of the fandom back in the XY days and making Serena and Amourshipping videos because I already realized that Amourshippers are still toxic. I had one of my "subscribers" telling me that Serena has been hinted to return since Sun and Moon because "omg Eevee this, short hair Lana that!" for obvious reasons but that doesn't mean anything. This made me glad I didn't upload Serena videos for years until this episode aired. Somehow now Pokemon shipping videos are overshadowing even the anipoke itself.
