Serena has a lot of fans (like myself) in Romania, for me the best player of all times. Even though we love Simona and admire her greatly, we also admire great tennis, with fair play and without tricks (i.e. shrieks, etc). Serena is an example of talent and fair-play, and force. Simona is also a great talented player; great difference of physical force and height and experience between the two, and despite these differences they offered us beautiful tennis!!! We should honor their talent and effort by having a fair and polite conversation on this wall.

***** Well said. I agree.. However remember my Channel is a Pro Serena Channel which is not a hating channel on other Tennis players (S.H included) rather our focus is Serena in Tennis. Therefore I designed this channel to give her support because if you watched the match, she doesn't even always get that in her own country when she plays. People love to hate on Serena. I think it's not right at all. I have no dislike of S.H. . I think she is a very talented player but I do not think that is at Serena's level. Serena is truly a league of her own. Sorry if you felt anything that has been said is hate mongering towards S.H. Thanks for your comments:-)

This match was never on Simona's racket. She blew her out that first set. The second she allowed her to get back in the match. She started 3rd set great but let the crowd get in her head because this match should of been done in straight sets. But time and time again she finds a way to win and that's all I really care about. So now let her get Miami Open Title #8 and she has qualified for Singapore as the #1 seed.

Exactly. People keep calling this a thriller when the reality is Serena allowed this to be close. The first set was impeccable and she just dropped her level a bit.

derrick johnson That's so awesome.. You are so right about Serena carrying this match. Nothing that happen last night was due to S.H.... Serena Nerves ,as she ages, sometimes gets the best of her and she falters, but usually"Like Last Night" finds are way to a win. She was superb in that 1st set. 2nd set ,at the end, before she got broken, I could tell she was focusing on being off the court instead staying in that moment to win the match. Then that set was over and the 3rd set she came back to life until a little hiccup in the 5-2... That is when I felt she was letting the crowd get to her the most, I felt bad for her.. The fact she is in her own country & people were trying to cheer on the opponent to win. I know some of them chanting were from S.H Country but it was a lot more noise than them against SW.. Sometimes being an American is so upsetting at times like this. No other country treats their athletes this way.. It's weird! Glad she came through with the win:-) Thanks for the info.

Zona Parks This was our girl "SW" to win or lose and nothing else. People tend to think that S.H is on SW level and you can clearly see in the 1st set that SW is way beyond her. Had SW not let her nerves about making History(Making it to the Final to try to make it #8) get to her, this would have been a complete blow out. :-) Our Girl is human things can get to her like they can all of us. The crowd trying to chanting for S.H. beyond S.H Countrymen didn't help.. People in the US is weird about supporting SW. It makes no sense. No other country does this to their athletes. In the end our girl is in the Finals .. Hooray..:-)Thanks for commenting.

Childress Giles btw I heard that Serena will move pass Chris evert on the consecutive weeks at world number 1 list. Serena Is at 112 and evert 113. Serena will move into 3rd place behind graf and Navratilova. I'm so happy. That number 1 ranking don't desserve to go anywhere because, if she ever loses it even if she clearly Is the best in the world like in 2012 ppl will make it sound like she is not.

derrick johnson You are so right it was always on her racket. Serena played phenomenal tennis in the first set, it could have been over in two sets. Serena let that crowd get into her head, that was their plan. Champion that she is got her back on tract and that's all that matters. #8

Serena on fire first set and that is how she really OWNS Simona, Smona is not a real threat to Serena. Serena lost 2nd set on her racket. Serena playing really smart these days and working those angles,,That lob she made OUTSTANDING!.

uksoul2001 Buddy, you are so correct. SW is definitely worlds above S,H. If she had not let her mind wondered in the 2nd set(which she was Probably thinking on the history she was about to create)this match would have been a blow out. I love the fact that in her interview she told the truth. She said I made this match tough for myself.:-)

Childress Giles I think it was the crowd that got to her. There was a lot of support for SH but some haters thinking a loud mouth would derail the Queen, It was all on her racket, she let SH in due to her errors not cos SH was crushing her, Very impressive how she played and constructing points. She will be playing for Venus in the final and destroy Carla
