I hope that you enjoyed your hunt in Tanzania. With the Tanzanian president signing that new directive, the hunting in that storied country will be just history.

Martin Stiastny:This is indeed bad news for wildlife, one only has to see what has happened in Botswana to see that a hunting ban does no good for conservation, and Kenya, well that went very bad for wildlife many years ago, I hope they look at other countries where a ban has been a total disaster for conservation and change their decision.

Phenomenal shooting on that buff. Just out of curiosity, how do you think Maswa would compare to say Moyowosi? I know you do most of your buffalo hunts there now so I'm interested to hear your opinion.
@JAlainSmith Жыл бұрын
Maswa is a great buff area with big sweeping horned bulls and lots of drop. You have to play the Park Boundary game quite a bit though, the buff know where the boundary line is... Moyowosi for sheer numbers of big bulls is very hard to beat though.

Hey Al, How in hell did I miss the end of this video for a year? Big fan here. I know that I've seen the start of this video but I must've fell asleep(I'm old...!!!)? Until now, I never saw that spine shot & then the 2nd in command beating up on his dying ex-boss laying on the ground? That action puts in my top 3 best hunting videos...!!! Thanks for all the great videos!

I shot an American Bison and after it went down the herd came over and several tried to get it to stand by booking it with their horns as well as a couple of bulls that seemed to enjoy just butting the heck out of it. Crazy stuff

Why do you always shoot your buffalo with your .375 and then walk up to it with your .577 and act like you shot it with the big gun? Love your videos. Not trying to show hate just want to see that gun in action on the show.
@DL-ij7tf5 жыл бұрын
He uses the .577 on approach in the event the buffalo recovers for a charge. A lot of big game hunters have been hurt or killed from that, there's even a phrase "It's the 'dead' ones that kill you". The heavy double with express sights would be better in that situation than the lighter scoped .375, and one can't be too careful. He does shoot at least one buffalo with the .577 in another video including dropping one that charged him in thick brush when approaching.
@speedgregory64635 жыл бұрын
@@DL-ij7tf I 100% agree with you on approaching dangerous game with open sites. I only shoot dangerous game with open sights because in the event of a charge, as you said you don't want to try to find the animal in the scope. I've seen those episodes before as well I just want to see him shoot the .577 double rifle since no other shows do that or have the opportunity to shoot that gun.
@JAlainSmith5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Trust me I shoot Sir Alex [as we like to call my 577] every time I am close enough. Sometimes you can not get in tight enough on them to use open sights and I would rather make the best shot I can with with the scoped rifle. If I have Sir Alex I always use him to approach "dead dangerous stuff". Thanks for watching!
@lettingthebearout75285 жыл бұрын
Yup. Better first shot placement with scoped .375 at distance. Better final knock down (or insurance ) if necessary for close up with big double. Anybody would shoot a scoped Model 70 .375 far better than a big nasty open sight double.
