Serfas lights are great when they work. I've had 4 1100's now and the last 3 have been nothing but troublesome.

Is the lithium-ion battery replaceable? If not, then you have to toss the light shortly after 300 to 500 recharges. That's about once-a-year because the full power run time is only about 77 minutes, according to lab tests. wetestlights.com/test.php?l=212&n=E-Lume%201500

do you have any suggestions for a good road bike light for dark country lane and road riding. I have tried lights, many of which have a spot beam. I am looking for a wider beam pattern to illuminate the sides of the road nicely. I do not need a big throw way off into the distance. thanks!

Cygolite. Serfas 'Had' a good series but they removed their TSL-True 350-550-750 ram airflow lights that lasted from 3:30-(350 version.)-2:30-(550 version.)-1:30-(750 version.) That had a user replaceable lens that would make their 'spot' into a more 'flood' and give a wider beam pattern.+ They had replaceable battery swipe. + A adapter that allowed their bigger wired battery packs to run on them, which would give you 2x or 4x battery life. Even from the 350, which would make it 14hours battery life on high (350lums)! Tho they replaced the epic ones with a TSL-F Series now. But Cygolite has better now, And if you get one like the 500+ metro, or Dash series they have a differ lens in them that give a more 'wider' broader beam from side to side, and runtime on Low for all is about 10hours. With 'Walk mode' which last 100hours. And most of theirs have a feature of 'boost' (Max lumens) which double click and goes from any mode to boost easy. So if some pesky car is infront of you not moving. You can flash them with boost easy before clicking again to return back to the last mode you were first in.
