I started skiing in this area 40 years ago. The Gampen piste directly below the mountain station, a perfect piste for learning and if you could ski Plansegg and Alpkopf next to it, you could also ski out the back. At that time you still rode from the valley to the Alpkopf in a single chair and to the Lazid in a two-seater chair a blanket over your legs because of the cold. The Masner area had just been developed and on the way there you had to endure the 2 km long Arrez drag lift. Not pure joy in icy headwinds. It was interesting to observe the changes over the years, although many things, but not everything, have developed for the better. . But I'll be there again in 2024, if fate allows it.
