Brigitte is still alive, she will have 87 this September 28. In 1967 the relation between her and Gainsbourg couldn’t last because Bardot was married to Gunter Sachs, a german photographer. Serge was heartbroken but he met his future wife (Jane Birkin) not long after the breakup.

Brigitte Bardot was as famous as Marilyn Monroe was in her day. Extraordinarily beautiful and wild. She quit acting as her career and beauty was beginning to wane (I don't think she was 40) and retired to her mansion, La Madrague, near St Tropez. She has been an ardent animal activist for decades. Other than that, she generally keeps out of the public eye. Gainsbourg always loved beauty. It was inevitable that art would come out of this clash. I really like this song. Fantastic music. As you say, it has not aged. What more is there to say after that?

Les américains, c'était dans les années 80, des français et jamaïcains dans les années 70 et début 80. A l'époque de "Initials BB", c'était essentiellement des musiciens anglais avec l'apport notable de Jean-Claude Vannier pour les arrangements de cordes.
