Sergei Polunin // Rumi - Frames

The voice over you will hear was added to the performance and it wasn't a part of the original. It consists of 3 Rumi's poems which are
1.The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.
2. For awhile we lived with people,
but we saw no sign in them of the faithfulness we wanted.
It's better to hide completely within
as water hides in metal,
as fire hides in rock.
3. You have no idea how hard I've looked for a gift to bring You.
Nothing seemed right.
What's the point of bringing gold to the gold mine, or water to the ocean.
Everything I came up with was like taking spices to the Orient.
It's no good giving my heart and my soul because you already have these.
So I've brought you a mirror.
Look at yourself and remember me.

I guess that people wanted to treassure a personnal memory of this. I am old school, I prefer watching without holding a phone on my hand but at the same time, I have enjoyed endless hours of watching amateur recordings of performances at KZbin. :)

Sergei's official fan club on Facebook is gathering voice messages up to 20'' each to unite people from all over the world sending their wishes to Sergei in their native language. Wouah, this performance is so different from everything else I have seen from Sergei. You can feel his energy. I have noticed too many mobile phones recording the performance and I was wondering if this alone could impact on the dancer's feelings... it does not feel right to me though.

Το μόνο που με χάλασε ήταν τα κινητά... Καταραμένη τεχνολογία!!!

@@MANOSJMT Ήταν μία και μόνη performance, που έγινε για περιορισμένο αριθμό θεατών και προφανώς δεν απαγόρευσαν τα κινητά. Ευτυχώς όμως οι διοργανωτές αποφάσισαν να το μεταδώσουν live μέσω KZbin από όπου και το "έκλεψα". Δυστυχώς είναι πλέον κομμάτι της καθημερινότητάς μας, ακόμα και σε τέτοιες περιπτώσεις. Από την άλλη επειδή σπανίως κυκλοφορεί ελεύθερα ό,τι έχει κινηματογραφηθεί από επαγγελματίες, χάρη στα κινητά, σε κακή ποιότητα μεν αλλά δωρεάν δε, να παρακολουθήσουμε διάφορα που αλλιώς δεν θα μπορούσαμε. Κάτι χάνεις, κάτι κερδίζεις πάντα.
