What an astoundingly beautiful recording by the Boston Symphony Chamber Players at their very best.

the third movement of this is my favorite!! on the whole it looks like a difficult piece to play - this ensemble sounds great

So otherworldly!

This piece has everything going for it except really memorable melodic material. Prokofiev the modernist!

Is the clarinet in this piece supposed to be Clarinet in Bb or Clarinet in A? Because I saw some notes that I don't think are possible on Bb Clarinet but might be on A.

I don't sure, but I think in A

It looks like the notes are in concert pitch so it would be different notes when transposed into Bb or A
@GaliaVictoriaMusic10 ай бұрын
@@gjdkdovm that's right, the alterations written here are the same as the other instruments, this means that if he would have been wrote already transposed we would see different (more or less) alterations for the clarinet part.

It is written in concert pitch in order to be possible to play on any clarinet in theory, but if you're true, this means Prokofiev didn't realize it's not possible on Bb

Superb composition. Definitely not Formalist in concept.

Sorry, what do you mean by ‘formalist’?

Great!!! However, this is a typical prokofiev. It's neclassical to the hilt. Stravinsky, Hindimith, les six.
