I’ve often used cheese cloth in my paintings for texture, but the layer of sand and wood-chips creates a completely different look. Beautiful depth and interest. Now I am dying for the pigments you used here, too. So vibrant!

I have taken photos of bits of abandoned farm machinery that has rusted and bubbled up over years; these ochres and siennas capture the colours perfectly! Even the dash of emerald is reminiscent of a remaining patch of stubborn paint! Bravo, Sergio!

For the most part this painting wasn't working for me and then...bam! You put that little stroke of emerald in and the painting just came together! It was like magic and I'm struggling to understand how that happened. I'll defiantly be watching more of your videos. Well done. 🙂

A little splash of complementary color often do a great deal for a painting - it adds a bit of drama to a harmonious and rather simple colorscheme. So Yeah the little green square is making you stop and look more closely to find out what is this painting about. Cool trick - I would maybe have placed it in the golden section to make it a signifikant focal point. But admitted it works even placed at the bottom.

@@SergioAranda I am certainly not saying yours is wrong. It all depends what your feelings are that day. You can make it strong and bold or you can tease the viewer feeding the more observant ones. And I agree with you it also comes to the different personalities - not two persons are the same. And thank God for the diversity ♥️
