I think a big difference is since they were called the “ugly” group they didn’t need to keep up a cute act so they could unleash their full fierceness. They could be playful with their stage presence. Because of this there will never be another group like 2NE1 again. There’s only cool concept or beauty concept etc... not fun concept.
