Yes, truly shocking. I was in ICU with my second child and after a long traumatic birth they sent me to sleep and took him to another room for the night. But what if there was another Beverly or Lucy there? And after carrying that child for 9 months and then being convinced that you are going to die giving birth to them (I was and I was saying goodbye to my husband during the whole thing) to loose that child because someone killed them ?! Too awful to imagine….

@@pranaranjanmohanty3411 Angel of Death comes from the Nazi doctor Josef Mengele who did the experiments on children (twins etc...). So they called her The Angel of Death after Mengele because she killed kids. But actually, I think she was diagnosed as having a mental illness that caused her behaviour so I'm not even sure if she could be seen as a 'normal' person who was bad, but rather an 'abnormal' person who managed to get into the worst possible position. Really, it shows a severe fault in the nurse training program that someone associated with disturbing behaviour and taking 160 days off of a 2yr course could get qualified to a level enabling them to be responsible for the lives of sick children.

Keep vigilant when they give you your meds. I was in a nursing home for 6 months and caught 5 med errors on myself. It wasn't intentional but the nurse was so busy she didn't follow the protocol you are taught from day 1 if you are going to pass meds. If I hadn't been vigilant and known all of my meds and what each looked like I probably would not be here today.

@Nobody Knows exactly. There's an entire list of things being checked before staff is accused of murder. And especially back in the 90s where murderous nurses and doctors wasn't a known thing. At that time serial killers were a somewhat new thing and seen as sad lonely men gone mad. Not a young nurse killing babies. Now murderers amongst doctors and nurses are more well known and a series of deaths will be looked at sooner than back then. Still a long list of things to be checked before staff gets accused, but still.

@@derinaries It is more horrific because it has a death toll and also because they're rarely held accountable. Most of the time there isn't even a suspicion of a crime, it's the easiest way to be a psycho. Even more disturbing than a children ward's nurse killing children that needed hospital care is how long it was for medical personnel & investigators to see the pattern of behavior Beverly exhibited. It's more than concerning that, that many children had to die or become seriously ill before it raised a red flag with Beverly's actions. IMO medical personnel should have discovered it sooner. Hopefully these tragedies will implement a mandatory investigation within a hospital'sl settings in general after experiencing an abnormal amt of mysterious deaths.

Also my son had a weeks stay in hospital due to gastroenteritis, when he was about 8 months old. This was before she started on the childrens ward. Makes my blood run cold when I think about it. She handled my son, he was 1 lucky boy. A few months later she did what she did. She was caught a month before my second son was admitted with pneumonia. I just think how lucky we were. Seems like if Stuart Clifton hadn’t pursued 3 cases- not accepting Professors Hulls report that only 1 death seemed ,”untoward”, at least one or more babies would probably have been killed. Seems to me he’s the hero in this story- his instincts wouldn’t let him let something “hinky” go. Too many incompetent, and dangerous hospital nurses and doctors continue to be let go , to be hired at other facilities, simply to save costs and reputations . I experienced a dangerous , narcissist doctor who could’ve killed me had I not literally gotten off the surgery table , fully prepped and walked out . He was at the time the esteemed director of the anesthesiology department at a teaching hospital and was out of his mind. He’s been quietly “relieved” of his position, yet as I follow his career, has moved on to another reputable institution to endanger unsuspecting patients. Frightening! And all too mundane .

So many children with the same issue and NOT ONE MEMBER OF STAFF GOT WORRIED FOR OVER A MONTH. AND THE DOCTORS AREN’T concerned either. The first red flag was the nurse, #2 the children recovered when transferred to another hospital. In a small child , it doesn’t take a lot of insulin to cause coma or death and because the children had IV’s running there would be no needle marks. !! And the faulty blood tests didn’t help the investigation.

Gods gifts are being destroyed, this destroys people, families, and the collective conscience. So sad they did not click before, all these beautiful children innocent, lost their lives at the hands of a hideous human being. It's the modern age. Police very often wear "body cams" (at least here in the US). Hospital patients should have continuous video monitoring. Besides helping in situations like this, common care would improve, because regular care-givers would not want to look reckless or unkind on video.

By doing all those disgusting things to all those poor children in a short space of time, it meant suspicions were raised that these cases were caused deliberately and were therefore investigated. If she had just tampered with one child’s insulin or whatever every 6 months or so then she possibly could have got away with killing children for years potentially. Thank goodness she didn’t. Her greed to kill those children was instrumental in her downfall. I remember when this case first broke in the news and I was astonished. I couldn’t believe that a supposed medical person was deliberately killing children in her care.
