Several months ago, which was a few years after the beginning of COVID, I started watching/re-watching these from series one, and the last season and a half have been interesting because COVID isn't really mentioned or discussed directly, but it's clearly impacted the show. The most obvious is just the seating arrangement. There was a group task (watermelon eating) that had to be changed between filming one group and the other group because of social distancing requirements. The types of prizes contestants have brought in have been different during lockdown. Honestly, I'm surprised not to see more discussion about the effects of COVID here in the comments section. But, it's still interesting to see, just a few years afterwards.

Then Jamali said it tasted sweet, which confirmed what she suspected and she said it's sugar and licked her lips again. When Greg asked to show the moment Sarah realized it, we can see that Sarah tested it right when she caught the bag. Jamali said it tasted sweet after Sarah already throw the bag from her.

It’s weird but exciting that they are now introducing elements made to clearly “disqualify” participants. Like with the salt and the water bottle in the airport task (not even hinted, just hidden). I can’t think of a previous season where they have done this because if there ever is somethings hidden, it’s for helping them, not for making it harder or potentially disqualifying

If you watch closely that laugh has the purpose to distract the focus from Jamali was actually taking two steps before they finished the task, so they should've reset. In this form he basically cheated. So, as an old thief trick when they blow, starts making noise and point to others as loud as possible.

Since the bag of salt wasn't already on the table, they could have picked it up and put it on the table that it was under and immediately finish the task. They would have had to start back from the podiums because the bag of salt was touching the ground as soon as they started but it's a much shorter distance to the sugar table.
