The reason we don't get shows like this in America is because British shows center around the banter and commentary of the show. The concept is usually meant to facilitate banter and the actual 'action' is more of an afterthought. Sometimes they'll spend 5 minutes just commenting on a 5 second clip. If the actors were American, it would probably take on a 'competitive' angle instead of a relaxed chat style. Most Americans typically don't like this style unfortunately... :/

Katherine's "I'm not from England" makes a lot of sense tho. E.g. I'm from Germany and I had English Advanced Course in 11th and 12th grade, so I'm pretty fluid, but I sometimes forget simple words when it matters hahah.

I'm re-bingewatching this and just noticed something that I didn't the first time because I didn't know yet that Katherine thought her only option was to eat the egg raw. Alex told Jon that the egg didn't need to be eaten raw and he had a kitchen available if he wanted to use it, but didn't tell Katherine that when she said she wasn't able to eat it raw. Jon didn't even ask "do I have to eat it raw?" Alex just volunteered that info. It seems pretty unfair. Normally he doesn't even answer questions let alone actively help people by making suggestions.
@johnjones79269 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure it's not that she didn't know she could cook it. Her words were "I'm sad because I've already lost, one of those gross boys is going to just eat it raw" which, yeah. Exactly right. Her dilemma was whether or not to even bother cooking it knowing she for sure wasn't going to win the task. In hindsight she could have cooked it and hoped for a middle placement but I think once it was already splattered on the table she decided against it since it would involve scooping it up wasting time and dwindling self respect. Also people point out how wild it is that she sipped a bit of it but then stopped, but I'm with her on that, since the only way downing it raw would be worth it in her mind would be for the sake of winning but at that point she had already burned so much time thinking and debating that it wouldn't even get her the best time anyway.
