Totally binge watched the whole series! Appreciate the effort to put this together and get it out there. I literally never watch TV, only KZbin and I have to say, this is the best travel series out there! Massive well done. p.s Lina, you are so right about Myanmar (Burma), my favourite place on the planet! Beautiful country and people. Looking forward to Series 3 but in the meantime, I'm gonna check out series 1. Peace

Love that you three are doing these Q&A videos, great stuff! I've got a question for you; is teaching English in SE Asia with TEFL/TESOL certification but no degree possible? Is it ethical? I'm a writer and an avid reader, so I know the English language like the back of my hand. Though when I think about getting the certification and trying to find a job abroad, I start convincing myself I'd be cheating these people out of a proper education since I don't have a degree.
@amberlovely17 жыл бұрын
I'm getting my TEFL in November and I've wondered the same thing. I'm not sure about SE Asia, as I think many countries there require a degree, but there are a LOT more countries you can teach in without a degree and many online companies as well.
@TheBudgeteers7 жыл бұрын
its possible and ethical. I am qualified but teachers who aren't can and are sometimes better.

Hey Paddy, at least, I THINK it's Paddy I'm replying to, I 100% understand and agree with that concern. However, (and please note that I've been a broadcaster with a comms background since 1990,) it's all in how you approach the issue. As an example, if you were to provide an avenue for those with Ad Blocker, to be able to submit a "Guilt Offering", then you would be absolved of whatever "hand out" stigma you've mentioned. That's just one of dozens of differently spun scenarios you can use - and I don't mean to press this issue, I really don't. But it does seem to me that you have a significant fan base (yours truly included) who greatly appreciate what you've done, are looking forward to what's ahead and want to do what they can to financially assist you, Thijs and Lina in the most expedient and efficient way possible. If the shirt option is the only way, then so be it. It just seems to me, a Canadian, that if I'm paying $55 CDN for you 3 to go out and show me places, peoples, and cultures on this planet that I probably will never have the chance to visit, but truly have an interest in, and you're only receiving $15, maybe $20 tops, then there's something wrong with that model. I love you guys. I love your videos! The production quality. The drama. The beautiful images from exotic locations! I just wish there was something more I could do to give you all a leg up. I'm also pretty confident that I'm not alone in this regard. To sum it up, I guess this is all just food for thought. Would love to discuss this over Canadian beers, but I highly doubt that will be a possibility - at least in the near future. Either way I'm greatly looking forward to Season 3!

Hey Daniel, thanks for the awesome message and yeah this is Paddy (but i speak for the guys when I say that) We would totally set up a go fund me etc if we thought that most of the subscribers would be on board and happy to donate for a future series. But we think that most would see that as shitty thing to do and so we are trying to fund a future series in other ways (i.e. the tshirts, working with brands or people we like for promotion on this platform) we really dont want to ruin a good thing (even though awesome people like you would be happy to fund us etc. All I can say is thanks for the concern, and for sure if you come to CM let's get a beer, in the meantime.....BUY A TEE SHIRT!!! haha :)

:))) yeah, it makes sense... but this is a big challenge when you travel alone - You are on a beach, you have all the stuff on you... and you wanna go in for a swim... you can't really ask someone to watch your stuff (personally, I never do that - I've been asked to do so but I wouldn't do it...I have trust issues lol ) so I was wondering how you guys are handling that since you've said you guys used to travel alone a lot, I bet you had to deal with situations like this a lot
@TheBudgeteers7 жыл бұрын
why do you need anything other than a towel, a book and a bottle of suncream at the beach? leave your valuables in a locker at your hostel or safe in your room and then tackle the day. if you wanna take your phone or whatever to the beach then just hide under your towel or whatever. Its not rocket science :)

Hi again, Paddy which school do you work for in chiang mai? Is it an international school or? Are you a qualified teacher or just have toefl? I am a canadian teacher and have been teaching in europe for the last few years but have always considered moving to Thailand to teach as I love it there. I just wondered what opportunities are out there from your experience :) Thanks!

Sorry that probably came across as a bit snarky. Big fan of the series, and season two made me nostalgic of when I bought a shitty car and spent 6 months with a buddy couchsurfing and working in Mexico. Really excited for season 3!

I agree, Africa. I also agree your favorite place Thailand. (my travel experience was mostly work connected to wars and conflicts in 35+ countries/on 5 continents/mileage equivalent to over 180 times around the World.)

Hey I think you guys are awesome. I wanted to know what Lina does to deal with her motion sickness on the road. My girlfriend suffers from severe motion sickness and it keeps her from experiencing some of the best places I've seen. We've tried everything we can think of :/.
@TheBudgeteers7 жыл бұрын
hey mike! i just take strong motion sickness medicine. for when i get sick theres not much to do except power through it! does she take pills or anything?
@615mic7 жыл бұрын
Yeah she takes Dramamine and it kinda works sometimes. There's no way in hell that I can get her on an overnight bus or train though :(.
