At 1:09:41 i got stuck because i didn't understand the choice. .. If stuck with rising interest rates it best to use the dumbbell strategy because most of the bonds are short maturities you can reinvest faster into higher yeild longer maturities. I believe that ladder strategy would be better for various market conditions "all terrain tire" I really appreciate everything you have done to help me pass the series 65 thank you! Edit time stamp. Edit #2 this is a hard question. After back testing it seems the only time barbell strategy outperformed the ladder was during 2004 to 2007. So ladder is usually better for rising interest rates assuming a yield curve increase.. but then the barbell would do better during lower interest rates because it is more flexible.. I Hate questions like this because it depends on a multitude of market conditions to tell which strategy will overperform.

The test issue is 457 are NOT qualified plans covered by ERISA. 457 offered mostly to public employees.

They do not conflict. The first is a naked or uncovered short call. You are agreeing to sell stock you don't own. The second is a covered short call you are agreeing to sell stock you do own. I think I’m done with FX man. I just failed another practice exam with a 67%. I missed 4 options questions. Pretty sure I saw at least 6. I also saw a diluted EPS question. And just overall more math questions than necessary.

No. Semi strong means inside information may work. There are different interpretations of the various forms of EMH. Does not matter as a test issue because test will ask about strong form (nothing works so buy an index fund).

Hey Dean, Do we need to be concerned about questions that give us the total debentures, common stock, preferred stock, capital in excess of par, etc and asks us to calculate the earnings per share? If so, could you please show us how to solve one like this? ExamFX likes to ask this type of question. And also the type of question where they say the company make a cash or declared dividend and then ask them how that affects the balance sheet. I did see a video where you mention these two concepts briefly.

Yes but that is not the test point. Part 1 is mainly for the regulators. Part 2 is mainly for disclosure to clients and potential clients.

Do you have any other suggestions to study for this exam? I've watched and taken notes on this video 2 times now. Currently using Kaplan course. I've been studying for the past 3 months. I go over topics with coworkers who have already passed this exam and they say 'you know this stuff, your gonna do great' but when doing quizzes and practice tests my scores are sub par(60-75%). I've basically used all questions for the 'Kaplan Q Bank'. Do you have any recommeded tutors I could see online perhaps? My exam is scheduled for Dec. 14th.

I highly recommend his 65 content as a great supplement. It includes an excellent practice exam. Brian sometimes does tutoring. I do too. But I don't control one of my clients sending a positive email "from a client" and then they respond and cc other clients... that's just a bunch of clients talking on a FB group or they all know each other... the Rep is not mentioned at all in the actual question... so it seems it is a minor mistake... change the first instance of "client" to "Representative" and it seems to make sense - the Rep then cc's 3 of HIS OTHER CLIENTS... a def no-no... hope this helps - let me know if I got it wrong!
