Hey, my name is Dilon Ortiz and i was the person you interviewed wearing the blue shirt. Thank you so much for visiting Bandelier National Monument. it was really great being able to speak to you about our culture and to share our knowledge with you. I am so humbled to have been in your video explaining what work we do and how important all of that is to us. and how much we want everyone to come out and enjoy the beautiful trails Bandelier has to offer. but again, thank you for coming out to visit and all the other national parks as well. please come back soon!!

What an awesome video!!! Sounds like you and your daughter had a ton of fun. That’s great to see. This Veteran’s Day I’m going to Great Smoky Mountains National Park to make my 4th trip on the crown jewel hike in the park, Mt. LeConte (via Alum Cave Trail). Although this time will be my 1st time staying overnight at the lodge that sits at the top of the mountain. I’m excited to use my GoPro Max for some footage. Thanks for inspiring me and many others to enjoy the national parks, make memories, and preserve them for us and our families.

Great video. I’ve been to Bandelier before and loved the park. Above the ladder are the highlands and there is a trail there. The route was used by Indians before and so much so there is a grove cut into the rock from who knows how many thousands of people have walked there through the ages. It is quite a sight and there are petroglyphs along the way as well with excellent views.

God bless you, brother! If you are 20 and single you have the advantage of more flexibility with your time. As for me, I basically use all my vacation days and then pack in as much as I can on each trip. I fly primarily on "miles" (have an airlines credit card), eat cheap on the road and camp (can't afford hotels). Add a car rental in there with gas and just about all your expenses will be covered. Also, the National Park Pass is $80/year.
