My take on the characters physical appearances being what they were was Heng looked the same in the different times and planes of existence because he was the same character throughout, an immortal being living through the ages. Where as Babe's Tharn was the current reincarnation of Freen's character from the past. Phaya dreamed and then drew her image until he met Tharn and their souls(?) recognized each other for who they used to be. We then saw them remembering their time together and they only saw each other as their current looking selves, not what they used to look like because they were memories, not flashbacks.

The Freen thing was bad story continuity in my opinion. Mermaid suite Freen was Tharns past life incarnation as a Nagini, but they dropped it for Babe in a wig during the flashback. I think it would have made more sense if they had used Freen and another actor (to play Billys past life) for the flashback. I think they could have even done a artsy change from past life actors to Billy and Babe as Phaya realizes the people he's watching in the flashback are him and Tharn. I'm sad they didn't. The Sign was very near close to perfect for me except these little bits of lazy story telling throughout and the ending. Heng never changes because he never died and therefore was never reincarnated. It's the same immortal Naga prince from original timeline and he finds Tharn every time he is reborn.

This show was top-notch from the direction to the action, storyline and the actors. Everything clicked and that made it work! Plus BillyBabe are adorable and are one of my new fav ships ❤ For me the storytelling was amazing incorporating so many plots from the mythical Naga/Garuda characters to whole reincarnation bit, to the romance and the best friend groups and last but not least the police/detective procedural and revenge elements. It’s a lot but it’s worth the watch!

I still believe that their previous lives should have been played by other actors (ex. Guruda by Saint and Wansarat by Freen) at least for one scene when the sister was telling Phaya their previous life story and show a transition to Billy and Babe when Phaya can't comprehend and said what the story has to do with him.😂 Plus since Wansarat has reincarnated as Tharn, I believe the Garuda should have been changed his appearance as a reincarnated Phaya.

The women that reached out to save Phaya when he was drowning when they were training was Wansatharn’s jealous sister. She does tell Phaya who she is in the episode where Phaya drowns and is saved by Tharn when they were chasing a bad person in the jungle.

But I think it was Tharn's ngamani amulet that saves him,cos the one who pulled him up was Tharn but Phaya hearing Wansarat's voice (Tharn 's past life female version, she wears a green colour outfit) was due to the power of ngamani ( it was the soul stone of Wansarat that she gave up to save Guruda) Remember Phaya drew her pic, and their colleagues/friends also teased him, saying she looked like Tharn. The sister wears a gold coloured outfit, and when she told Phaya about their previous lives, there is a scene where Wansarat changed to Tharn when she said to see the soul. PS. I still believe that their previous lives should have been played by other actors (ex. Guruda by Saint and Wansarat by Freen, at least for a scene when the sister was telling him the story and show a transition to Billy and Babe when Phaya can't understand what it has to do with him.😂)
