Job is my hero. I want to be like him. Like an enduring marriage, for better or for worse, God give me or take from me, I will believe like Job and never give up my faith. Great lesson Pastor Mike.

That quotation from Job: many do not know that the item in Handel's Messiah, "I know that my Redeemer liveth" comes from the Book of Job as well.

The problem with Job is he had opulent blessings at the beginning and good blessing at the end. A lot of us never get the good at any point in our lives. The seasons or trials which are sold as temporary measures for many of us aren't temporary - They're a way of life. Faith and praise in a God like this who also hides himself as well is unreasonable..

Well-ll-ll, why not? God doesn't have only you to take care of. He wouldn't save you and nobody else from a rail disaster. These things happen of themselves, not just for you. In "The Chronicles of Narnia," all the team get to die in a railroad crash, and are taken to Heaven. A Christian author put it this way: a woman parishioner asked whether it was a "Providence" that her aunt missed a train which crashed with great loss of life. The pastor thought about all the other people on that train who didn't deserve to die. Why was Auntie saved and not them? It all depends on how narrow your own world is.
