Well played Farag. But for the good of the game it is important that a shotmaker like Gawad does beat Farag sometimes. Not least to encourage more young players to play like him!

It seems like Farag's break has done him some good mentally. He seems hungrier than before. Hope Gawad's issue is temporary. No-one is better in the front of the court.

Farag complaining about the backhand drop in the first game makes me think they had a discussion before the match that Gawad won’t play that shot just to keep it fair for everyone lol Otherwise he could’ve just won the match with 33 of those drops.

Lowering the tin has given something back to shotmakers like Gawad and has slightly altered the balance between racket skills and athleticism. But I would like to see more changes to redress this balance a little bit further. What do others think?
