I will never be able to get over how calming and peaceful this game is. The concept of it is truly beautiful. Learning balance and change, cause and effect. The topic of what deserves and what does not is a very deep topic that many people have trouble discussing and I think your commentary on it was outstanding. Your ideas of balance are spot on and this game brings out the best of them. Also, your voice is extremely relaxing and the graphics are just so warm and pleasing that I almost fell asleep lol!

Finally!! I have had time to watch this gameplay of NIVA. Why is it that all the things we tend to push for another day, turns out to be one the best things? This game was designed beautifully!! The backgrounds, the atmosphere, the smooth transition of walking to running, the exploration and solution of the conflicts in this world... I wish more people knew about this game. This game reminds me a lot of Meadow. Perhaps it's because it's a peaceful exploration -type game. Or perhaps it's the creatures and design. One thing's for sure, and it's that both games make you think deeply, and are very beautiful. I haven't played peaceful exploration games on my own...I just watch the gameplays of others. Well, there was a game I played for a bit, where you're a deer with a human face, and though it was strange, it was beautiful, but alas, my computer had met its end. Those are some deep questions and thoughts about balance. Some dangers, or life, is eradicated in order to keep others safe. But what dictates that they need to go? Everything has a role to play, and if they're taken away, the balance shifts, in favor of one or the other, and usually the tipping causes other things to be harmed. How do we know if something's balanced if life is constantly changing? I haven't lived long enough, or have had experiences, adventures, advice, stories enough to form an answer either, but, this is something I'll keep thinking about. Whether it be subtlety hinted in the questions my history teacher asks, or in the deep conversations I have with my friend. It sort of reminds me of the Calpack Pack, just a little bit, the part about when one species should step aside for another to rise. The first nichelings made a home on the dangerous hills, having descendants that were mighty and strong. But once they finally reached the jungle, they had met their match with the apes. The Calpack Pack wanted to show their strength and conquer the island. But the apes and the other life have been living there, and they have learned to adapt and evolve to fit their surroundings. Since we are the audience of the Calpack Pack, it's obvious that we want them to reach their goal of defeating the apes and taking over the island, but to the apes and the other life there, the Calpack Pack are seen as strangers, and a danger to their home. I actually don't know what I'm trying to state. I'm not sure if my thoughts make sense...it's quite late, and I usually find it hard to express the things I want to say. Oh well. It was quite nice to finally watch this video, and the faint curiosity in my mind about this video can now fade.

RMS Titanic 1912-2016 that's interesting because in Finnish 'niva' means 'a place in a river with strong current'. So for me the game's name does not conjure a peaceful image like a meadow does :)
