Living Inside-Out | Mark 7:1-23
Walking around with your clothes inside-out is both unfashionable and embarrassing. Living inside-out is a completely different matter. Jesus tells us that life is ultimately lived inside-out, from the heart. Perhaps this sounds like a given. Reality, though, is that many people live outside-in kind of lives, trying to earn something, or to find peace, by virtue of outward behavior. As we'll see in our text for this week, though, that doesn't deal with heart-level issues. More and more, Jesus invites us to live inside-out, from the heart.
To prepare for Sunday, read Mark 7:1-23. It's very possible this will seem like a rather obtuse text to us, as one very isolated to the time of Jesus. It's not. It's for today. It's for every culture throughout history. Please read this prior to Sunday and ask the Lord to help you live more and more inside-out.
