I really like this Marriage analogy. Since the Church is the Bride of Christ. The false vicar who has no intention to preserve and hand on the true faith, has no rightful claim to the papacy. Thank you!

Could the man who is elected express his consent and have his fingers crossed behind his back.

I rather follow tradition like Paul says to in 2 Thess 3:6

Father DeSaye, you left out one of the key requirements for a valid papacy. The man elected must be a Catholic, that is, he must be baptized, he must profess the true Faith in its entirety, and he must not have separated himself from the Church by schism, heresy, or apostasy. Lacking this, by divine law, he is not an eligible candidate for the papacy.

Then it is reasonable to conclude that Jorge Bergoglio is not now, nor ever was the Sovereign Pontiff of the Holy Catholic Roman Church...

The “marriage “ that would be featured on a movie or television show. A simulation of a marriage.

Didn’t Frances refuse to take the title “Vicar of Christ?”

Correct

He was “peacefully and universally accepted” however.

It doesn’t matter because he did not consent properly to his election. The UPA argument only applies when the pope-elect has accepted the election in the way required by the Church.

@@romancatholicmedia I’ll buy that. Robt. Monyihan and Fr. Murr were discussing this the other day and this was the consensus.

But is Francis really the vicar on earth? He doesn’t act like it.

A parrot could be trained to say the vows and the parrot might be more faithful to the vows. 😅
