Serpentine Belt Renewal - Nissan Micra K12

Serpentine belt (Drive belt) replacement. Removing and replacing the alternator and water pump belts on a 2003 to 2010 Nissan Micra K12 1.0 petrol engine (without air conditioning). If you don’t have access to a spring balance tool, you can measure the belt tension by exerting thumb pressure on the belt and measuring the deflection. However, err on the side of caution as a loose belt can easily be tightened but an over-tightened belt may damage the alternator or water pump bearings. Brilliant straightforward instructions and information. For those with AC up to 05/2006 the Gates part numbers are as follows... Gates micro v kit KO14PK1070 year to 05/2006 (2x belts and 2x tensioners) Water pump Tensioner T39028 year to 12/2006 water pump belt is 3PK668 Alternator Tensioner T39177 to 12/2006 Alternator belt is 4PK1070

Oh I practiced applying 10kg on bathroom scales...then pushing belts....... Because i don't own a spring balance. Obviously I won't be held responsible if you practice this and errrrr thing going wrong ..lol...

On this car the alternator belt was a 4PK833 so it's 833mm long with 4 ribs
