i've done hundreds of belts w/o such a tool, today i got me one and all this still make no sense to me 🤔

Why does the extension have an 1/2" drive that doesn't fit any of the sockets or crow's feet accessories? This makes no sense.

Yeah they should've made 2 extensions but some tensioners have a 1/2in square in them and you have to use that

Looks like almost all extensions have a 1/2 drive for the extension. I have no idea who made this a standard but it makes no sense. The only reason I can come up with is that the original patent holders might have had the extension at 1/2 and, like almost all companies do, manufacturers copied the original patent when it expired almost 1 to 1 without thinking about how the parts of the tool would work with each other.

He said it right there, i already knew that, sometimes the tensioner opening can be 3/8 ,which is the regular big tool handle . Or sometimes the opening on tensioner can be 1/2 drive, anyway,,,,, I never own or work on a car with a 1/2 drive on tensioner opening..
