At the end, I believe that Cure didn't know if Serral had any more air to air units, so he wanted to bait out gas usage (banelings) using hellbats and try to drain Serral's gas bank. That way Cure "wins" is by forcing a draw by floating into deadspace. Once Serral gets a scout off, and he sees that there's nothing but 50-ish hellions/hellbats, he's just going to a-move half the broods. Unfortunately for Cure, Serral had one corruptor at the end, so Cure gg's out once he sees it.

The reason why cure stayed in was, he wanted a draw by flying the buildings into the corner..... The moment he saw that 1 corupter he just ff-ed. Why am i not suprised it was the terrian player stayig in when he was dead....

@@ManDuderGuy Race specific imba discussion is endless . Terran's ability to float buildings endgame is minor compared to other race specialties IMO. Protoss has disruptors that are rage-inducing, chargelots that micro themselves. Zerg have maphack on their side of the map for free. Terran drops/harass feels like a cheap investment from Terran that needs tons of resources to deal with. How many times do you actually end up in this drawish situation?

I've seen players attack their own things a with carrier to get the interceptors flowing, but never with brood lords. In an alternate universe, cure built about 10 barracks behind his army and switch into 100 supply of pure marines as his army died toward at end there

a note on the trick, remember that before you could cancel creep tumors and rebuild them? so if you had an active creep tumor, you could have it build a tumor, attack it, and cancel it as the attacks were flying. Just a different method of achieving the same result. Very APM intensive though either way for an army comp that is already quite demanding, which is why I assume we haven't seen much of this.

you don't have to cancel the new creep tumor, if it dies before completion the charge comes back to be reused

@@0NBalfa0 When you spread the tumor, there's a little loading bar above it. If the new tumor is destroyed before that bar is completed, the charge is not used and the spread ability is put on cooldown and can be used again after. If the bar finishes, the ability has been transferred to the new tumor and is removed from the old one.

Cure just couldn't accept the fact that he couldn't defeat a Zerg (even if he was is GOAT), as someone with the broken Terran. It's good to see that at least Serral can still crush every single Terran on the planet, because the moment that Terrans learned how to play with their race (use your OP units to control the game instead of turtling), the TvZ matches have been sad.

Cure was staying in because he did not know if Serral had any / enough corruptors. If Serral has zero corruptors, it's a forced draw; likewise if he is able to snatch the corruptor out of position it is a forced draw as well. He might have had a better shot of doing this if he remaxed on marines instead of Hellions though.

why would corrupters matter? Once the big fight was lost and cure was massin cars, there was nothing he could do. Serral had the ability to mass queens and had a ton of infestors. Cure shoulda tapped out a while ago

@@wmzer0mw Corruptors matter because it's the only way that Serral can kill a floating building. Meaning that if Cure successfully kills all corruptors, he can float a building to the corner and claim a draw, regardless of how overwhelmingly serral wins any other fights. Hence massing marines might have been somewhat better in the end.

Funnily enough the weird late late game tricks (like broodlings into changelings, or using mules to waste enemy minerals, etc) is stuff I saw many years ago in lower leagues, because in lower leagues it's quite common for games to get to the super late game, near-stalemate stage. You have a similar sort of thing happening in Supreme Commander - often the "average joes" are better at the very very late game than the pros, because the average joes spend more time in that kind of game, and at that stage APM is no longer a factor.

I remember doing this in WoL in like Silver league just because all the Broodlings looked cool streaming in. You do have a point. Everything is easy in retrospection though. It is not a common situation that the zerg opponent will end almost without corruptors, and he did not know how much gas Serral had.

@@jeffxie8309 there is plenty of deadspace on data-c.... all 4 corners as well as most of the left and right borders of the map are deadspace that cannot be attacked by ground units. Serrall was patrolling almost all of his overlords in the left side deadspace for most of the game.

totally understandable ending. cure was trying to see if serral had any gas left because he could force a draw if he floated to the deadspace and serral didnt have any corruptors. Serral literally only won the game because he happened to have 1 corruptor left that he hadnt morphed into a broodlord. if not for that one corruptor the game would have been a draw. in fact cure messed up by spending his final gas on ghosts instead of vikings. if he had built vikings to protect his buildings from that corruptor he could have ensured a draw

Poorly. 1/2 marines lose against equal cost of 3/3 adrenal zerglings, and never even get close enough to attack the broodlords because they get walled off by broodlings. The hellions can beat the lings, and outrun the broodlords to attack buildings, which is at least a threat - Serral loses if he has no buildings, even if his army is still strong.

The fact that Serral makes nothing having such and adventage in the last minutes of the game is really annoying. Just go and kill your opponent.... but no, lets just do nothing for 5 minutes. Prottos and Terrans must learn about this do nothing tactic. The willing to close a game achieved more losses than victories.

Thors are not great against broodlords... brood lords weakness is speed... marines eat brood lords... even mass brood lords.. when you ahve that much minerals... 100 marines... you do anoying shit and split moves... stim and run in and gun... you can take out clusters of broods easy...... point is not to a move against brood lorrs but target chain... but meh who knows.

@@ProfessorZanetti He had no gas... better than a only ground assault. He had little air. Throughout those battles... with only minerals left.. AG unit is better than the later. More ghosts I thought might of helped. AN air assault squad could of been useful for taking out overlords, annoying damage. I did like his nuke pushes on spores, to push back the zerg.. Problem is thors are like broodlord speed... you need a fast unit... libs are okayish, in mass.. aoe attack.. faster than vikings... raven.. too costly.. technically the correct response to zerg air army was always science vessel lol.. but it seems parasitic bomb which is like iradiate... is givne to zerg... Viking do have that extra range, but their hp is terrible... Mass marines... could of helped, since it makes other units less valuable... vipers, infestors.. etc yeah .. 1k mins is only 20 marines.. he did lose too much... the whole phrase of no stim pack no this... your dumb.. its like, well in a game that long, everythign hsould be available... and what you save doens't make sense per unit count.... anyways... marines may have never done anything but its probably better than.. 40... hellions... which is 80 marines... upgrades in those ranges are reletively cheap, but since he was not building anything to remove brood lords, to trasnition over ... I don't see it happening.. Thors... thors are okayish , but they are slow and groud unit... annoying.. and kind og pop easy... Thor drops are great.. but thors as a late game defence against zerg... probably not a good idea... for hte cost wise... especailly when 2/3 of your enemy has an air armada.... BC are to supply heavy... but 20 bc's.. warping in on a zerg army can do wonders.... plus get rid of infestors quite fast... its hard to say... vipers allow an attritiona lwar... on their part... The scanning was good... hmm...

The reason why you dont go marines in lategame is that they get a fungal and die immediatly to banelings and zerglings in small numbers. If you want to mass produce them, there is no need too, because everything they do, would be done better from ghosts snpies and emps in direct engages. Also it's better to have 2-3 more ghosts instead of +3 attack on units you wouldnt build anyway.

do you know that terran only have to press 3 bottons, one for snipe, one emp and one for liberators, while zerg have to control spores, overseer, broodlords, infestor, vipers, queen transfuses all at the same time? and the zerg army is something so much more expensive then the terran one. I think it's fair that the zerg army should win if both players micro perfectly, just because terran units do all automatically and are easy to use. The one fight serral lowered the guard he lost all the infestors to one single liberator. The free unit argument is stupid because it's just like saying that tanks are op because zergling cant reach them before they die (so it's free damage). In the end it's all about who has more range in this late game fights.

@@ramil8029 Since you probably cant read i will try to explain better: in late game the race which has more range wins, since in direct fights the one who attacks into a fortificated position dies. The ranged units for protoss are tempests and high templars, for terran are nukes, siege tanks, liberators, thors and snipes, for zerg they are broodlords, vipers, infestors. This has nothing to deal with free units. It's just that the broodlings increase the effective range of the broodlord, basically it's like complaining that the broodlord has to much range compared to the thor and ghosts. But then i would say, the broodlord requires so much more micro and it's so slow, compared to the ghosts, it requires so much more tech buildings, it's very supply heavy. So why should they nerf them? just because crying terrans are the majority of the players on starcraft? not only you have the most easy to use units, you even want them stronger for some reason. (Ghosts are counter to everything, they run fast, have a ton of hp, no attribute so they dont get any bonus dmg, their EMP has shit ton of range with upgrade, snipe counters everything if not interrupted by fungals, they can cloak, their basic attack for some reason is very strong while every other race casters throw water baloons or doesnt attack at all) And serral won because he totally outmicroed Cure. Every time cure went in for snipes he got fungaled, and cure didn't EMP the infestors back. I dont understand why you complain about free units. It's just matter of which race has more effective range. Not to mention that zergs play with fog of war, while terran dont (scan)
