These Oliveira-Serral games are right up there with the Clem-Serral games in terms of best ZvT games of all time. The skill level is insane. I'm so glad Oliveira is staying sharp and looking like a real contender for a 2nd WC in a row. @redwings134006 ай бұрын
1:17:00-1:18:00 What an utterly ridiculous hold by Serral! His army was severely outmatched, he makes the call to cut off reinforcements which helps cut off the army just long enough for him to get something together, then the moment his lings on the other side dies, he moves in. If Serral is even five seconds slower to take out the main army there, Olivera's reinforcements arrive, get set up and the position becomes unbreakable, but Serral somehow managed to stall for exactly enough time to barely hold. Olivera looked incredible there, definitely the most impressed I've ever been by him. He came within a few seconds of taking the series.

Agreed, I don't see why people say they find Serral's style boring. He's not a chaotic player like Dark (whom I absolutely love). But all of the little details of his play are so beautiful - how he distracts with the first 2-4 lings to allow the ovie to get a good scout of the base. He's the only zerg to consistently do really cool stuff like overlord drops or contaminating the opponent's tech research. Look at the corner base steal in game 1, ffs! Serral wholly beat the entire army he could see @ 1:07:28 . all the marines & 'bats he could see, all dead by 1:07:40 , and one of the three tanks. he did *not* kill the army he only discovered @ 1:07:30 , and splitting banes toward that second force, ineffectively, kept Serral from killing the other two tanks. He lost that battle, and so that game, informationally. He moved so confidently because he's used to complete scouting info - he didn't have it this time!

"the helions to protect the siege tanks" could almost be Oliveira's tagline. Its like byun "picks up ... and heads to the main". First of all let me state that Maru played horribly during the Finals and Serral was still playing like the best player in the world that he is. Now onto the reason why Maru lost so quickly. -It's like 4am Korean time during the finals so maybe Maru is not used to the timezone change. Remember most of the player Maru beat during this tournament is also Korean. -Maru had always known to have inferior tactics compare to Serral, most of the game Serral beat Maru, he beat Maru with superior build order, Serral didn't even have to do anything too fancy. -Maru clearly choked both game 3 and game 4, which bring me to my point where i don't think Maru is a very tough player mentally. He performs just fine when he is ahead but he can't play well when he is behind.

@@teddanville6996 That time difference applies to both Serral and Maru, but might ofc affect some more than others.

amazing set - i feel so bad for Oliveira in game 3. I can't imagine he didn't intend for the ghosts to be there in that critical fight.

5 less bane hp with cheaper marine upgrades seems a little scuffed If it wasn't for the marine buffs I'd say perhaps they want to bring the equilibrium a little lower, less high powered slugging (which I'd say is a good goal) but as it is, just seem to push away from ling bane Maybe understandable, it could be used pretty late, but just a slightly bigger chokehold on zerg early game

It certainly makes ling bane feel easier to deal with for Terran. We've seen in multiple games especially with Clem banelings not getting a chance to connect
