I don't like the new way to move things. Using a controller, the old way was fine, but needed to be refined a bit. The other issue i'm having is I have a quest where I'm supposed to be giving those weights to Mulan, but she won't take them. (The weights? where she climbed up the pole)

For us switch players when decorating we used to be able to use the left joystick and the arrows for more precise movements. Now we don't have our arrows which is super annoying for me at least. I want the old way back!!! 😂

On the switch when fencing, I have to spam A for each individual addition to fence, while before I just held A and moved the left stick to place how many fences I wish.

For me personally, I have a switch and I think it’s just a new learning curve, it’s like having to start over on learning how to decorate. Now that I know how to more it’s alright. Especially with the movements switch can be really sensitive and that can be irritating when trying to place something in a certain spot.

@carliecarlton:I don’t think it’s a new feature though I think the new furniture is just glitched since when I set down the Daisy wardrobe from Scrooges I get 2 of the item when I only need to set down one. So I think the furniture mode is just glitched/bugged because certain new furniture is glitched/bugged I don’t think the devs actually want to make us have to relearn how to redecorate stuff and I don’t think the devs intended for stuff to be slower.

I miss being able to drag pathways on the Playstation. Tapping every single path square is getting tiring on my arthritic joints. All I really do is design biomes, so this has really put a kink in things.

Another issue with the cursor in the middle is that in certain areas in Eternity Isle, the camera only goes so far. Due to this, there are some items I can't pick up anymore because I can't move the cursor any further.

It took awhile to get used to the new path and fence placement feature but I like it better now that I’m used to it! As for the hand being stuck in the center of the screen, I don’t care for it. There’s also a rectangle in the frosted heights that is in unable to be decorated on my game now. This is against the wall that has the abyss on the other side. The hand curser won’t go inside the big invisible rectangle.

Im glad its not just me trying to decorate on nintendo switch is soo painful slow now even trying to add things and move to create a dreamsnap is soo slow and painful i hope they fix this .. i had no issues prior to the update

(I'm on switch btw) I wish there was a way to search items and recipes via alphabet like you want to see everything starting with s instead of scrolling all the way down as it takes forever specially if you don't remember tags for items.

The change shows its problems when you’re trying to get a precise placement of an item. Before on switch you could use the d pad to nudge an item into the right place. Now that’s rendered useless. The joystick is good for moving an item long distances but it’s so hard to use when only trying to move it over one or two squares. The item tend to jump larger distances. It’s so frustrating. Also I hate the whole map moving. It makes it hard to focus.

I'm on PS4 and yeah, this is a pretty bad change. Not only is it much more difficult to be precise (and headache inducing imo since you constantly have to move the entire screen around) with the cursor stuck in the middle of the screen, but as you've said, it's terribly slow when zoomed in. It's not impossible to use, but it used to be much easier and I'm really not sure why they even changed it. It's not the worse issue in the world, but def an unneeded change which I hope they revert in the next update.

It 1000000 percent made it impossible for me to decorate on the switch. It is unbelievably slow it's unreal. It takes so long just to move 1 item somewhere else. I really hope they fix this issue because it's making me not want to decorate.

I sometimes just want to move my vacuum from one biome to an adjacent one, and this has made that impossibly slow. Faster to pick up, walk/glide to next biome, and place it back down. I have not tried to decorate but I already know it will make me furious for dreamsnaps

@@jazyd1992most likely depends on the furniture item you want to place down the new furniture is most likely glitched like when I set down a new furniture item I most likely get duplicates and then when I set down something not new I most likely get the normal furniture mode where it’s fast

It's very frustrating on xbox as well because now the whole screen moves when trying to decorate. My dreamsnaps are going downhill fast because of the decorating mode. 😢😢😢😢

As someone who can't see very well, I have to zoom In close to decorate. The slow curser movement has made it an unenjoyable experience. I really hope they change it back or give a toggle. Everything becomes too small for me when I zoom out.

For me, as an Xbox Series X players, I am fine with most of the changes, I can adapt. BUT that extra slow cursor when trying to decorate is horrendous! Especially if you're trying to add fine details to a build. Next week's being a decorating challenge for Dreamsnaps, I'm gonna be cussing Gameloft I can see it now!!

@margaret3912:because Scrooges shop is most likely glitched right now for certain items. Like the pride balloon arches we get in our mail box after typing in a code are a not allowed item right now at Scrooges same with stuff from the star path and certain other items. Plus Scrooges half the time has our avatar get stuck in it when we go to shop. So I think the game just has new bugs that needed to be fixed that will eventually be fixed I highly doubt decorating is suppose to be hard to do and I highly doubt certain items are suppose to not allowed. Iam sure stuff will get fixed once the devs find a solution to certain problems they just might not have read certain people’s complaints yet since they have lives outside of designing a game

Serroh, I love your videos. I was doing a Dreamsnap this week and noticed that when I had companions in my picture it would show up as a Touch of Magic design, even if I toggled Touch of Magic off. once I got rid of the companions, I was able to take the picture no problem. Nothing else caused this issue, it was not Daisy's Boutique since the problem went away when I removed the companion.

Since more people are doing the dreamsnaps, I now do the bare minimum because even when I spend time I always get the minimum moonstones. So for me I haven’t really noticed the change but I’ve never liked how decorating works.

I play with mouse & keyboard, so I haven't experienced all the changes myself, but I can tell you from watching this video that the new way with cursor stuck in the middle gives me bad motion sickness. I'm watching many decorating videos and never experienced motion sickness from them before, when it was the old way. I don't think I could decorate at all due to this if I had to use controller instead of mouse & keyboard

I'm getting used to it. I'm not an avid decorator or anything but it's nice not to be shot across biomes with a slight controller move however not being able to put down path or move items with the D pad is garbage. Make it so i can move one grid spot over when i choose!

i believe its for stability but they do need to make options that way ppl can choose but i do like most changes i play on PC but use controller i dont like the static hand outside but i can move it out of the way with the mouse when needed 😀😁

On Xbox I can no longer get to items placed near the edge of the world as in the edges of frosted heights where there is no biome next to it, same in forgotten, glade and in the isle, anywhere where you can’t get the screen to move over far enough, super annoying!

the problem with replacing if you switch a boarder path with non boarder path and then exit and go back into edit mode you cant replace the non boarder path with boarder path i hope this make sense

I play on PC with a controller but I decorate using the mouse for me its the best of both worlds so the changes for me have all been good and my pc is a lowend machine my graphics card is poop! so I have noticed improvements with this update less freezing etc.

The changes for adding pathing and adding multiple of the same item are so much better for Switch. However, the slowing of movement in furniture mode is really painful. They slowed it down way too much! Maybe they could add a speed control option, so each user can customize.

The curser is so painfully slow. Having to move your entire camera and position to select an item is so inconvenient. Then because you have to move ur entire camera your camera gets stuck on houses, items and cliffs so your camera gets bounced and pushed around a lot The hand or ui doesn’t hide on ps5 there’s no button for it shown - not in furniture mode or camera mode so if we’re taking picture in furniture mode we still get the hand in the middle of the screen and ui is now always on screen in camera mode on ps5 I get they were going for an easier experience on controller but this did the opposite it’s not user friendly at all and for ps5 it doesn’t function fully This should be an option to toggle and I’m hoping that they revert it back eventually but for right now if they could drastically increase the camera sensitivity that would be better. When they change things it usually takes till next update and because this isn’t exactly broken they won’t hotfix it but I’m hoping they help us out and increase the sense for right now as we need some improvement. This game is heavily focused on decorating and having to use this every week is not fun.

Not being able to move the cursor during pathing causes a lot of difficulty if you're on the edge of a cliff. I was in Peaceful Meadow and several times, it would auto zoom *through the ground* and I was unable to pan the camera to a place where I could see what I was doing because the cursor would only go so far. Slightly my fault because I was pathing under already placed buildings instead of bare ground, but still. Not a fan so far.

@@divadollysimmer :thats because they made the new way of decorating too slow for speed and sometimes you get duplicates of items when you are trying to place down one item. They made decorating too slow like to do pathing you can’t even use the arrows for the pathing half the time and you have to end up Doing the pathing one pathway block at a time. Pathing shouldn’t take forever to do iam still stuck on the remy restaurant outdoor seating area quest because of wrought iron issues and because of decorating mode being too slow and because of my item amount not knowing if I have only one spot left for an item or if I have more then one spot left for items when I also took away some items to make room for something else. So I think decorating mode is half broken somehow and I barely have duplicates the only thing I have duplicates of are basically of certain benches and certain seatings. Iam sure the decorating mode would be fine if they would add a toggle on and off switch for the new decorating feature or if they would have it not be so slow they slowed it too much.

I like the new way the paths and fences are put down. I will actually decorate more with them now. Not a fan of the hand moving the camera as you decorate or the arrows being taken away for more precision. But I'll get used to it. I'd rather have the trophy's work and give me actual memories instead of just money because I have two critters and I can't get the others as all I get from the statues now is money and that's it. So frustrating.

I’m so glad I switched to PC before this update. This seems horrible for consoles 😭 I wish they would have made each biome separate and there was a loading screen going into a new biome. I think it would have solved most of these issues. It would be annoying for some but I would rather have less crashing and higher item limit then an open world feeling

@@debbie1483 :the original first way of decorating wasn’t as frustrating though since it came with a back up solution for people to still be able to decorate and you didn’t get duplicates when you didn’t want them and you could place down items when you wanted them a lot more easier and the cursor had more room to move around it wasn’t doing stuff you didn’t want it to.

It isn’t just frustrating for Switch users. I play on Xbox Series S and I miss being able to use the D pad as well. I don’t like the change. I can get used to it and adjust for sure, but to push a change this big on players that weren’t complaining about it is frustrating. The ability to choose this new way or revert to the old way would be better. I’ve definitely pulled back on decorating for a while to see if they change it back or at least give us the option. 😮‍💨

I really love the decor-mode changes. It’s made it a lot easier for me on Xbox. Especially for pathing. I like the cursor in the center of the screen, and feel like I have more control over item placement. I wish they’d make it the same for when decorating inside of the house. Now i feel as tho I have control outside, but am flailing around inside. It would be nice to be able to toggle the feature on and off, tho.

@@Meatheadchop:they probably shouldn’t have be so slow though control is fine but they have stuff too slow almost like a sloth and with a cursor stuck in the middle of screen I don’t think they want stuff to be stuck in the middle of screen let alone for stuff to be too slow. Sometimes I can move stuff where I want and sometimes I can’t. At least the normal way had stuff more moveable with the cursor with stuff not stuck in the middle of the screen. Plus sometimes my item count can’t decide if I have more than one spot left for an item or if I have only one spot left for an item.

The camera moves really slow also on PC with the mouse unless you are high up looking down. (Most people don't decorate from high up though.) I was trying to move items out of my area (to once again demolish an area for Dreamsnaps) and it took me forever to get the items moved. I thought they might have done this trying to stop the crashing on lesser machines. Gameloft never thinks about the player, I'm sure they don't play their own game. lol I was telling my son today (who is a gamer and 32 yrs old) about all the problems (lights not coming on at night, not being able to buy duplicate items I've bought with real money) and he just shook his head in astonishment and said, "I could NOT play that game." Welcome to the world of being a life-sim player, the gaming industry has always taken advantage of us, saying we aren't real gamers and that we don't know any better so they think they can get away with all these glitches and doing us dirty. EA and The Sims started it. And being there are so few life-sims games we have put up with it. It's the industry standard now to take advantage of us. Gameloft is just taking the opportunity now patch after patch.

@eileenbeaton5595:I don’t think so I don’t think it’s suppose to be like that since sometimes people get duplicates when they don’t want duplicates set down and the cursor is sometimes stuck in the middle of the screen. So I don’t think furniture mode is suppose to be the way you think it is since furniture mode use to be alot more quicker and people could use the arrows to set down more pathing…etc…. I think the new furniture is just bugged/glitched and the devs just haven’t gotten to people’s complaints about furniture mode being hard to navigate when it’s slower a lot of people hate that furniture mode is super slow when it comes to Stuff when furniture mode didn’t use to be slow at all. So I don’t think the devs intend for furniture mode to be super slow to work with and for the cursor not to be moveable with certain items like when I set down Daisys wardrobe from Scrooges I get duplicates when I only want to set down one but when I set down something old/not new furniture mode goes back to being fast with no duplicates.

Like iam already delayed on finishing my outdoor seating area for Remys restaurant for one of Remys quests because of the wrought iron rates the new decorating mode makes things even harder now for decorating my game can’t decide how my decorating spaces I have left half the time

I have a switch. Every time I put down an item I have more than 1 of it automatically puts down the next and I have to delete it. The slow 🐌 motion cursor drives me nuts. I'll have to try zooming out to see if that helps. Thanks for the idea 💡 😀.

I'm not a fan of how slow it moves in furniture mode. But doing the path isn't too horrible I guess. I could get used to that easier. Don't slow me down damnit! 😂😂

@SensualSilence93:the old way wasn’t that frustrating since you didn’t get duplicate items being placed down with the old way where as now you get duplicate items being placed down depending on the item that you set down now so I don’t think decorating mode is supposed to have multiple items of the same item being placed down unless you want multiple items being place down like when I set down Daisys wardrobe from Scrooges I get duplicates placed down when I only try to set down one wardrobe and then when I place down something old/not new I get the furniture mode being back to normal with no duplicates being placed down. Plus the new way has a cursor stuck in the middle of screen which iam pretty sure a cursor isn’t suppose to be stuck in the middle of the screen when we decorate the valley. Plus the old way let us use the arrows for pathing to do more of the same pathing. You can’t even use the arrows for pathing now which means you have to spam the A button on click on the same pathing multiple times after doing 1 small part of the pathing. The old way of doing decorating didnt cause people to hate it because it was easier to figure out how to set down certain items a lot more easier and quicker without having duplicates pop up when you set down just one item

@SensualSilence93:also now my furniture mode now will tell me I have less items placed down or sometimes it will tell me I have more items placed down when I haven’t even placed down anything new since iam also stuck on doing the Remys wrought iron quest for wrought iron for tables,chairs,pathing,fencing and a statue because of the game not giving us enough wrought iron to work with daily. Plus Scrooges is also glitched so I don’t think the devs intend for furniture mode to be the new way since the new way causes a lot more problems when decorating the old way didn’t cause problems when decorating since people could actually place down one item at a time without duplicates being in the way when people don’t want duplicates of something. No one complained about the old way of decorating

I am on xbox and I would decorate by putting the area on my screen and being able to move the cursor from one side to the other to move objects instead of the whole screen moving. Kinda annoying.

I have both the Switch and the X-box Series S, and I have found the Switch to be very more stable then the Xbox! On the Switch, I found you can play for about 30 minutes now before the crash! But on the Xbox series S, but apparently not on the Xbox series X, the game loads then crashes! Every single time now! I don’t think this game is ever going to work right for everyone, which really sucks!

putting down path on consul is much easier now i think. it used to be we, or at least PS players had to put the curser over one of the 4 arrows and then drag in the direction of that arrow but it was so fast it was hard to not over shoot and mess up other parts of the same path. now as you just saw we just press the direction we want to go and then press the button to place. but we can still go over other parts of the same path and mess them up a little. pretty easy to fix though i didn't even realize the curser was stationary in the center when i made my build for this weeks dreamsnap and yea when you're in close it is terribly slow now but at least it's not like before where it'd shoot across the screen and you'd be like 2 biomes over from where you're trying to make a build. ok it wasn't quite that bad but still it was crazy fast

@@richardking4125 :yes but the over shooting problem could easily be fixed by just deleting the parts of the path you don’t want to the path. Not using the arrow is a bit to a lot more way even too harder even more than the arrow one was since it takes longer to do the pathways now before you could at least a complete row of pathing and be done and the arrow gave people more room to move the cursor around since we could move objects out of the way a lot more faster. Also overshooting isn’t a problem unless you plan on using different pathways next to each other.

@@richardking4125 also the overshooting wasn’t a problem for pathing since you would need a complete pathway and it shouldn’t take people forever to do a pathway the arrows made the pathway decorating go quicker since you don’t have to go back into the decorating inventory menu and find the same pathway that you are using/spamming the A button to place down more pathing. the arrows you could still be on the same pathing you originally choose and just drag the rest of the pathing you have to make a complete pathway.since you can always just delete the parts of the path that you don’t want if you end up overshooting which doesn’t take as long to do

@@richardking4125 also with the arrow you were always allowed to go back and redo the pathing if you overshooted and messed up a current pathway you could at least fix the problem since the cursor had more room to move around when decorating in decorating/furniture mode. So you could have a more complete walkway of pathing when using the arrows for decorating since you could go off and do all 4 of the arrows to do a complete pathway and then fix the problem spots at the same time and it didn’t take as long to fix a pathway. Since you could exit out to furniture mode and go back in with the same pathing and fix the messed up parts of the path which didn’t take forever to do

@@richardking4125 also more people are doing dreamsnaps now so a slow decorating mode isn’t helpful for anyone and a lot of the dreamsnaps are decorating challenges that have to be done within like 6 days before the dreamsnaps give players a new dreamsnap so a slow decorating mode isn’t help for dreamsnaps it leads to people having less items in their dream snaps because people can’t move the cursor around as far to get rid of certain items and to use the items that they want for dream snaps.
