Synopsis

Tempering steel is when you heat steel to a certain temperature and then quench (rapidly cooling) it in a quenching solution, often times water or oil. no offense intended to the writer but when forging items you would anneal an item by letting it cool slowly to soften it. the next step would be to grind and sharpen while it is soft. the next step would be to heat it to a cherry red then quench it relatively quickly to make it as hard as it can be in reference to it's carbon content. then you would temper it by slowly heating it till it reaches a certain degree of softness then quenching it a final time. i noticed a couple of occasions in which the writer misspoke on these steps and hoped to provide some basic information for future use.

i wonder why the author chose muscles before bones, if the muscles are much stronger they would literally turn the bones into string cheese when he put any significant strength into effect. the tendons would rip strips of bone off. (the same effect of shin splints but much worse)

True they would but he already enhanced his bones first. He replaced the blood and it's components aka marrow. So it's partial enhancement might be enough. But if you break the bone down completely what is going to support you? The muscles. If you break the muscles first then at least you still have bones. Or something idk not through it yet

You also have to understand his bones are already enhanced from the cybernetic enhancements he retained through reincarnation. So they're already stronger than any normal humans bones. And he strengthened them further through mundane training.
