They were still the exact same band on stage. Just because Bruce Springsteen turned Hungry Heart into a hit doesn't mean he was Frankie Valli. As popular and as pop music a couple of their hits got, the band remained pure unadulterated raw musical energy. They might have been playing a little bubble gum rock at the end, but they were blowing big bubbles on stage musically.

Truly the greatest live band. In terms of just music and a real live show. I mean I seen them on day on the green with Nazareth, UFO and Thin Lizzy . The last time Gary played with them and the headliner was journey. Really ? Journey? I mean after hair of the dog, Rock bottom and the emerald and J Geils doing mad man. Their sanctuary your. Who really wanted to be loving touching squeezing. I mean if journey opened it would have been cool. Then I seen them at candlestick open for the Stones and I'm sorry. Not. They blew them away. I mean Peter and his mike talented. Magic with his live it stick and j. George thorogood was the first in the line up but mick was hoarse and I think for me. Geils again stole the show. On a list of top love acts. They are definitely on my top 5 of all time and I started going to concerts at 13 with my step sister kidnapping me to go to Cal Jam and I've been to every day on the green, mountain Aire and cal expo shows and in between. J Geils always put on a hell of a show 👊💯🎯 most underrated live act who should be more regoniized for the hell of a show the did 🎯💯👊s
