Service Airbag Light - 2003 Silverado air bag impact sensor replacement | Airbag sensor replacement

Is the service airbag light illuminated on your dash? If so, your airbag sensors are probably bad! In this video, I will show how to replace the airbag sensors (impact sensors) on a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado and this particular model is the 1500 WT. The sensors cost around $130 each (you need two) and it's a fairly straightforward install. ** Always disconnect your battery to avoid the risk of setting your airbag off **

Quick question I got the code B00 26 When I turn the steering wheel at a certain position, the airbag light goes away, but when I turn it back to normal, the airbag light comes on and the service airbag message comes on. Do you think the clock is busted? I recently replaced the steering wheel about two months ago, and I just started to have this problem.

My light is on , on the dashboard, I replaced 1 sensor & their are still codes, saying it was installed incorrectly, but that’s not the case, should I replace both of the sensors?

If any sensor is bad it will throw the fault. That is why I did both. I can't imagine these plastic bits last 20 plus years.

Does anyone know if when the SERVICE AIR BAG message is displayed on the dash, was anyone able to physically push the button on the gauge cluster itself and clear the SERVICE AIR BAG message, thus displaying the milage next? Or did the SERVICE AIR BAG message stay stuck on the dash until the airbag issue was fixed? 2003 Silverado, Thank you

Mine was stuck until I replaced the sensor.

I just replaced my gauge cluster, and on my original OEM cluster I could push the little odometer button and remove the message and then scroll through my mileage/trip etc. Now on my new gauge cluster I can't clear the message so I didn't know if the new cluster button was broken. Sounds like the new cluster just functions a little differently

@@jamzdotnet I replaced both front airbag sensors and the passenger seat pressure switch and the message is still stuck on there. May have to go to the dealer unfortunately

Did you pull the codes? We’re there two codes for the passenger? I’ve checked my wiring harness under the passenger seat, it looks fine. I’m attempting to not replace these overpriced sensors if I don’t need it.

You know, I don't recall if I pulled them..I have the Bluetooth scanner. Either way, not sure of codes would say what one is bad? Go to NAPA and use the local tech discount or they have one. Or, AAA, 10% off

Those ramps are geared for the weight, Rhino Ramps. Even if they collapse, Silverado still would have clearance over me :)
