You have a lot of patience with that customer. I've been fixing forklifts for so long, that I'm a little grouchy, and will just clean the tank instead of asking them. I'd tell them to take those batteries back. That's too much cranking load for them and they will be damaged soon. Guaranteed, when the fuel system plugs or the batteries quit, he'll call your boss and try to blame it on you, and get you to fix it again for free. A couple questions..When are you going to put a hose clamp on the air cleaner hose ? And where's the counterweight?
@theforkliftguy Жыл бұрын
You have to know how to deal with each customer differently. Some customers require more patience than others, just part of the trade. The counterbalance was taken off and set aside when the engine was rebuilt. They don’t have another forklift big enough to put it back on, so they had are waiting to rent one.

Amazing video, I have the same exact forklift, mine been sitting for 5 months, and after I fixed the fuel pump, engine starts no problem but now it won’t moves back and forth and the mast won’t move up and down. I bypass it with my power probe and all components work. You think is the ecm or sas module? Because every works, when i bypass with power probe, but nothing when I use the forklift controls. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@theforkliftguy6 ай бұрын
What are you bipassig? The seat switch ? It’s would be the SAS module if the mast doesn’t move but make sure the seat switch is operating correctly. Forward and back are not controlled by the SAS I believe
@reytech17866 ай бұрын
@@theforkliftguy yes I bypass every component, I put power straight to the shift solenoid on top of the transmission and I can move the forklift forward and backwards. But yes the mast also doesn’t move at all up down side or tilt. Thank you for taking your time to respond brother 🙏

Well done sir, I admire your skills. I am dealing with a similar issue with a Yanmar engine in a Tailift. Engine runs good at idle but will bog down at high idle and shut off. Fuel was heavily contaminated. I flushed out the fuel tank, replaced filters, and added clean fuel. Truck ran good for 10 minutes then went back to the same issue. Seems like it's getting too much fuel. I quoted the customer new injectors thinking that the contamination is causing one more injectors to get stuck open at higher idle. Waiting for them to approve it.
@theforkliftguy Жыл бұрын
What kind of fuel pump does it have ? Is it mechanical or electric ?
@aarona7089 Жыл бұрын
Electric lift pump. I replaced that when I flushed out the contaminated fuel.
@theforkliftguy Жыл бұрын
@@aarona7089 the lift pump should go to a high pressure injection pump correct? Or is there just one pump? In that case, yeah the injectors are most likely bad.
@aarona7089 Жыл бұрын
Yes, there is an injection pump. When it's at a high idle, blue smoke will blow out the exhaust and smells like unburnt fuel. That's what makes me think an injector is getting stuck and dumping too much fuel.
@theforkliftguy Жыл бұрын
@@aarona7089 either that, or you have a leaking injector. Or an internal leak in the injection pump causing to send more fuel to a certain injector.

Those hoses are fine for the diesel. Hyster uses hoses and I've had zero problems on about 30 trucks ov er the last 20 years. Well, maybe a leak or two.
