Awesome!!! I made argentinian asado a few days ago! Here in Argentina everything is getting more and more expensive, but once in a while we can afford these luxuries. I know that both our countries have top quality meats, and they taste so much better cooked in the grills with charcoal! Cheers!

Someone Explain to Me Why the Mongols Put Stones in Their Food. What kind of custom is this? What is it connected with?

It’s a special nomadic method of cooking a large amount of meat in the wild where you don’t have an oven and other kitchen utensils with you. You only need a good knife 😊. As time passed, Mongols developed a taste for it. Meat is braised, but grilled and smoked at the same time (from inside!) Plus, there’s a unique flavor that can’t be described, it comes probably from the minerals in stones. At feasts in Mongolia, especially in summertime, a stone grilled dish is a must.

Your people are not real nomads anymore. A settled (peasant) culture doesn’t need this method, so it probably got lost. It’s funny sometimes to see all these questions and remarks, especially from the Russians: why? what for? that’s dirty! totally unnecessary! Bla bla bla… Like I said, they don’t understand because they never needed to cook permanently in the wild without any tools.
