What are you willing to lay aside to serve? Servitude is commendable but it doesn’t come without sacrifice. When serving, you must be disciplined with your time, while laying aside your title, talent, treasure, and temperament. It’s not an easy feat, but if Jesus could lay aside His garments to wash the feet of His disciples, we too can show up in service to meet the needs of His people.

Bishop I am reminded of the time I had the privilege to take care of my Grandmother, for eighteen months. It was the warmest moment of my experiences. She has Dementia and I was dealing with Depression Through the haze of her condition she could say the most encouraging and endearing word's to me. I never felt impatient to answer her repeated questions. A sweet time for me and I know it was for her.

Amen I needed this, serving is in the category of purpose .. it’s ok to serve but make sure it’s pure and not force .. sacrifice for what’s right and what’s higher.. give yourself love and be wise no matter what.. and wake up with happiness, so make it happen. Before I finished this sermon I seen the last part.. I served my mom a plate with a heart on it and thought about this sermon. It made me feel so blessed and better. I don’t need to be with my ex but it’s ok to have wise communication but don’t hurt myself and I’m thankful I’m stronger enough to serve naturally instead of hiding my feelings or thinking serving is wrong. This word was very uplifting. Thank you father, I said it through the whole sermon. Without you, I’m nothing Lord. Bless who reading this Amen, thanks pastor Bishop Jakes.. you’re so amazing.
