Reserve units are now putting in the work with their social media engagements with the public. This is cool Next is for recruiters to deosgn effecrive campaigns to engage applicants currently in the process and be transparent with them about what theyre getring into, and what they'd be able to get out of their resevr experience. More learnings.

the lack of grooming discipline is a bit .. off puting imo. Even if they are reservists.

Such is the Canadian Armed Forces’ new glooming standards meaning you can almost do whatever you want. They think being too tough might deter the new generation to join up, though I wonder why they stopped there and how they knew making people wear army uniforms won’t deter people from joining up. To me if glooming standards would deter you from joining you are not the right kind of recruits anyway. Weak leadership at the top, poor standards.

We need people do you not get it??? You cant be picky with a small army like we have as someone who has joined 3 different times in different times i can tell you grooming means nothing for centuries shaved faces or beards have been a part of armies it means nothing grooming didnt make us win in Afghanistan or iraq it doesnt matter wgat matters is if you are good at your job

@@LeComtedeSaintDomingue When was the last time you actually came across a potential recruit who crave that adrenaline rush being in the military or is patriotic enough to want to join up but would categorically refuse because they didn’t like the idea of having to shave or be asked to keep short hair but somehow they are ok with cleaning weapons or bulling boots? This is a real question. Grooming isn’t just about grooming, it’s the very fundamentals of attention to details which might cause lives in the field, it’s also the most basic level of an unlimited contract which your state might ask you to sacrifice your life one day.

@@LeComtedeSaintDomingue you are wrong. i have served and i feel like when i was asked to shave my face everyday and show up at a certain standard it gave me a moral boost to see people who are like minded to me and WANT TO BE THERE enough that they keep their beards ( unless they have a medical reason) shaved and the hair to a certain standard.. i'm sorry but the low standards of today are a big reason the army has a hard time to recruit people.

@@Dermeister009 Suffice to say, all corporations compete for talents. It’s a twisted logic to say any company would or should lower their performance standards or KPIs just because they can’t compete to recruit effectively. The Canadian Forces failed to recruit not because its standards were too high before but because their recruitment effort was rubbish. It’s simple as that.
