Trev was a champion of the underground, and a huge supporter of any metal. I wish I was a fan sooner. and I wish I could have met the guy. RIP homie with that being said, I'm glad TBDM is around, and I'm stoked for this album.

What I love about this channel is not just the raw honesty, but also that you never forget the human element to music. I think many metalheads, and music lovers in general, often put our favoured musicians on a pedestal, forgetting the real human emotions that can afflict those behind it all. Great review, mate. :)

One of those bands that you could say *"Yep, this is an album"* without any negative connotation because they are excellent at what they do best, which is really geeky but aggressive Melodic Death Metal. Stoked to hear *Servitude* Rest in glory, King Trevor!

Ok so my only real negative is that at times it feels like the vocals should go into more of a low gutteral and they dont it kind of feels like it should go to that peak and just doesn't, also some songs just kind of end abruptly, which to be fair is pretty normal by their standard anyway, but other than the lack of gutterals and that particular dynamic the album f***s!. Great riffs throughout this whole thing, no real duds at all. Trevors extra something is slightly missed though buts its still like a solid 8 out of 10. All credit to the band being able to put out such a strong album after what they've been through and maintaining their core members and style.

RIP Trevor, the world has only gotten much worse without you in it, the whole metal world will forever love and miss you. Was lucky to have heard and been a fan of Black Dahlia murder a few years before this tragedy. Im ok with TBDM continuing on tho. RIP to One of the nicest dudes in all of metal. With the singles ive heard, the new Black Dahlia Murder sounds pretty damn good.

I'm pretty neutral on whether they should have continued or not, but I would think their attitude would be more "we really need to blow people away with this" rather than playing things safe. That said, I don't envy anybody trying to replace such a larger than life, beloved guy like Trevor and I wish the guys the best. I will try to judge the album on its merits when I get a chance to hear it for myself.

This was the first tbdm album that I ever listened to. I thought the vocals were phenomenal for my taste and the guitars and drums sounded great! Pacing and track length of the album is really nice, the cover art is awesome and just overall I really enjoy this album. Continues to grow on me with each listen. Solid review man hope all is well!

I toasted with a goblet if dark Czech lager. What about yall? If this record came from a new band, i think we would all be quite impressed. Not every new vocalist reboot is gonna be "Back In Black" or "Spreading The Disease". I think some young kids are gonna hear this and investigate further. Speaking of new kids, some fun darkhorse releases this week from INGURGITATING OBLIVION, BALASH TOTH, K.Y.M.I., ADORIOR, FLIGHT OF SLEIPNIR, ANTIOCH, TORREFY, NO GODS, TRISKELYON, ABRADED, CONVICTIVE, VOMITVSANCTVS, CYBORG OCTOPUS, ASCIAN, DISTANT DOMINION, EXUVIAL, EPIC DOOM, FATAL EMBRACE, SPITE, SIF, SCAB HAG, SOCKS & BALLERINAS, RUFF MAJIK, OCTOBER DRIFT. Im sure some of these gus are BDM fans. The spirit continues...

My history with TBDM isnt the same as a lot of peoples, i didnt really get into them super hard until i first heard Widowmaker when i threw Nightbringers on to check out. Remember listening to that and not even realizing it repeated back to the beginning until i had spun another half of it while i was out delivering pizzas. I'll forever be bummed out that i missed my chance to see them live with Trevor. It was during their Miasma anniversary tour, I got through Disentombed's set, and i just wasnt feeling well so I left early. I got into them super heavy a few months before Trevor passed, and youre right, it doesnt feel real still. Thought Aftermath was a great lead single, and i thought Brian did well vocally. Gonna go give this a spin now. good review as always, Cheers, man. RIP Trevor.

Eternal hails Trevor. Real shit, I haven’t spun a TBDM album since his passing, and I can’t really articulate why. This is a special band for me, and I suppose Trevor is/was a huge reason. Will definitely give this record a spin, but I’m conscious of my bias, and won’t go into it with high expectations. Hope to be pleasantly surprised!

I find it kind of weird to me that someone would try and forsake this album because Trevor is gone, and the band had the nerve to move on without him. I think you are right when you said that he would probably want the band to move on, and as a result, we do get a great album that, while it might "playing it safe", still hits like a truck. And I personally will speak for myself that I am happy that the band has continued on in memory of Trevor. How much longer they intend to, or how many more records they're going to want to put out remain something of interest, but I'm just glad they didn't pack up their shit and head home. I would say, again personally, a 4/5 is right, but I won't disagree with the 3.5.

I enjoyed this record. Nothing groundbreaking or huge but hey it's just TBDM doing what they do. And they're still good at it, I say good on them especially after the loss that they (and frankly we all) faced. Good record, Asserting Dominion was my favorite on this, and RIP Trevor. \m/ Side note you talked about Linkin Park with their new singer and some of that backlash. I like the new singer tbh. Not Chester but she's a good fit if you ask me.

Not bad, but nothing great either.. VERYYY SAFE record, as some are pointing out.. It’s like 10 different variations of 1 track.. The standout is the lead guitar work, which is definitely stellar.. If they didn’t have such a reputable name, this would be just another album.. 2.5/5 for me
@jeffnduran
@jeffnduran Ай бұрын
Thanks for your review/chat. TBDM are my most favorite band for 15+years. They can't do wrong in my opinion. I haven't heard the album yet but I know in my soul its a 5/5 for me. By "safe" do you mean lyrically? Because Trevor wasn't afraid to go into dismal, gruesome, and morbid topics/details in their songs. The two singles have been "safe" lyrically, at least to me, in a PG-13 type of way. There hasnt been anything their that made me go "oh fuck" like so many of their songs have made me think. I fear that without Trevor's mind the band will be underwhelming as far as the lyrics go. As for the musicianship, the two singles I've heard so far have been 'nail on the head' Dahlia, and that's great! I havent heard the album yet, my order hasn't even shipped. 😔

For me, it's not fair to compare this situation to that of Linkin Park. In that case....new singer situation aside, the original drummer chose not to return and the original guitarist has chosen not to tour. So you're dealing with 50% LP. Just saying. Anyway, RIP Trevor.

1) I enjoy plenty of things, including this album. 3.5/5 is a positive score. I said the album was good and that I enjoyed it several times in the video. 2) If EVERY video you see of mine is 'always negative', then that tells me you're only tuning into the negative content. This month alone I've given out several scores 4/5 and some higher.
