I have followed exactly like you did, but it keeps calling the servlet file and not the JSP file. How do I fix this? Also, the *out* is showing to be not resolved for me.

I think this is a bug with the Eclipse IDE. For some reason no matter what you change in index.html, it will keep the old file. To work around this, rename the index.html file and run it.

Just FYI, Java is majorly meant for enterprise applications and offer better features and unmatched security. Java is an overkill for smaller applications like simple websites with a contact form. PHP on the other hand is light weight and is meant for smaller applications where features and security need to be compromised. So each has its pros and cons, you can conclude anything.

But this is a beginner level tutorial. So it has been made simple and easy to grasp for the beginners. It's all about Servlet n JSP. Nobody is here for PHP. Once a beginner is clear about the basic concept and correct approach, he/she can extend their knowledge to solve more complex problems. And that's what I think is the goal of this video playlist.
