Sorry caravans and camper trailers i believe should be stopped from doing the Simpson and Canning 4x4 with trailers they just dig the track up I've done the simpson 20 yrs ago then 2 years ago the difference in the track was night and day The cooking segment are great 😂 That was a big climb for all of you guys

The "hoops" are caused by open differential vehicles. One wheel loses traction and spins and at that point young mate sinks the boot into it, digging a hole. Everyone else with no diff locks adds to the carnage.

We did Googs earlier this year and had to clear quite a few large branches so our NPS would fit...Hope that made it a little easier for you! The trucks are superb over the sandy dunes, even though we had a group of 12 4WD in front of us that tore the track up, we just crawled over every dune with ease. Thanks for your video.

We recently travelled the Googs with a convoy of 7 4WDs. We lowered tyre pressures suffieciently to crawl over the dunes. We certainly did not tear up the track. The tearing up of tracks like Googs is caused by those that don't let tyres down sufficiently, and those that insist on spinning wheels whe they get stuck rather than reversing back and having another go. Those that insist on towing are, in my optinion, often the culprits as they cannot reverse easily down a sand dune. I agree with others that towing on the Googs or the Simpson should be banned or at least strongly discouraged......

@IWillNotBeLabelled we used to belong to a club and the general rule was leave the track in a better condition than you found it. The club we followed clearly did not have much of an idea. Our first indication was their very late evening with lots of noise and not giving a shit about others in the camp-site. Also not using the correct UHF channel. No problem with having a club channel, but the first and last vehicle should be using the track channel, some of the scallops they left were over a metre deep...I could go on about them, but that's enough. No wonder 4wd ers get a bad wrap.

Thanks for sharing your adventure along Googs, we did this track last August and would love to do it again. Not sure why you didn't take the opportunity to mention that passes were needed to camp at both places. When we camped at Mt Finke, while walking down a track to take photos of the emus our phones started pinging with messages, we were not expecting any service so that was a surprise 😂. In regards to those camel tracks, we meet a big old fella who was quite happy to wander along the track. Good of you to rescue the Tommy Camper, we had one of those, great unit unless you have mobility issues 😮 Enjoy your next adventure.

Did a Nth to Sth run many years ago...climbed Mt Finke and rang my Sister who was in a train in Austria...she wasn't all that impressed by my enthusiasm for the modern technology due to the time in Austria being around 0200...anyway it's a nice track with some good camping and the kitchen hands are doing well...

Single axle van perhaps. It’s important to get those tyres (van too) down to about 18 to 20 psi.

Yes but i probs wouldn’t take a caravan down there as the track is pretty overgrown and tight so you’d just scratch your van! (: I would say the Googs track is tighter and harder than the Simpson - but that’s our opinion (:

With a truck you dont use speed, you just first gear high range and walk it, trying to go fast will see you thrown out of the seat pretty quickly. You also didnt show just how overgrown the track is either.
