I have always loved Sesame Street ever since I was a little kid and I still do. Every day at 4 o’clock when I got home from school I would turn on the television and watch it. I was born near the end of the first generation of Sesame Street, I’m so proud to be a part of that era. I remember the episode about Mr. Hooper when he died, it was very sad. I was six years old when that episode came out, then six years later my mother died. That was very hard for me when she died, and it still is today. I was born in 1977, next year Sesame Street will be 50 I can’t believe it. I can’t wait to see what episode they’ll put out for the 50th anniversary, and you can bet I will be watching the whole thing. I also love the international versions of Sesame Street. In a bizarre twist, sesame Street helped me to find my faith. This is when I was watching sesame Street celebrates around the world, the New Year’s celebration. I loved all the countries that they visited, but I was drawn to one, the New Year’s celebration in Israel. Ever since then, I have converted to messianic Judaism, and I haven’t looked back since. Thank you Sesame Street, and thank you Maria, God works in mysterious ways.

Could you imagine what if you met any of the Sesame Street human characters -such as Bob, Gordon, Susan, Miles, Luis, Maria, Gabi, Gina, etc.- in person? What would you do? I would say hello to them and tell them how they played a big role of that TV show.

Whites didn't like this show because it was predominantly Black and Latino actors. It was banned in some states Mississippi was one. I learned how to speak Spanish from this show.
