The Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN Foundation), in collaboration with National Academy Of Legal Studies And Research, Hyderabad and Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, is proud to host 4th Justice HR Khanna Memorial National Symposium.
This symposium serves as a tribute to the extraordinary legacy of Late Justice HR Khanna, a towering figure in the Indian judiciary. The symposium will consist of two engaging sessions, each focusing on a crucial aspect of the judicial system. The Pre-Lunch Session will be held between 10:30 AM - 12:45 PM and the Post-Lunch Session will be held between 2:30 PM - 4:45 PM.
The first session, titled “Contours Of The Basic Structure Of Our Constitution" explores the intricacies of how the Preamble serves as a guiding principle, ensuring the Constitution's fundamental framework is upheld, reflecting core values and intent, thus maintaining its integrity and purpose over time.
The second session, “Perspectives of Legal Dimension of Climate Change in the 21st Century," , encompasses the legal aspects of 21st Century climate change, including laws and regulations, international treaties, human rights issues, corporate duties, and environmental justice as a guiding policy for a sustainable and fair world.
The 4th Justice HR Khanna Memorial National Symposium is graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Hon’ble Mr. Justice P. V. Sanjay Kumar (Judge, Supreme Court of India) as the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Sunita Agarwal (Chief Justice, High Court of Gujarat) as the Special Guest and Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, (Vice-Chancellor, National Academy Of Legal Studies And Research, Hyderabad).
The Symposium shall also witness the august presence of Mr. Chander Uday Singh (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court) as Speaker for the sessions.
The 4th Justice HR Khanna Memorial National Symposium promises to be a forum for legal experts, academics, and enthusiasts to have insightful discussions, exchange ideas, and remember the imprint Justice HR Khanna left on the Indian judiciary. Through this Symposium, CAN Foundation seeks to honour his remarkable contributions, inspire meaningful dialogue, and ignite a collective drive towards a more inclusive and equitable legal system.
