Actually, Sango's brother Kohaku respects and adores Sesshomaru very much, almost to Rin's level. It was shown in the sequel. He is easily Sesshomaru's #3 fan after Jaken and Rin. From their interactions it doesn't seem like Kohaku would have even thought about being Sesshomaru's rival.

After everything that happened to Kohaku he when up North to train, to devote himself to saving people from demons, not settling down to have kids - married to his job . After what happened in the underworld Kohaku came to admire Sesshoumaru very much - he even quotes "Sesshoumaru helped me out alot as an kid". In one scene he even describes to towa how Sesshoumaru stands tall with dignity, just like Kikyo - the 2 people he admired the most in the world. Kohaku spend 3+ years living with Rin playing games with her and watching her grow every day from an kid to an preteen. Considering their similar trauma, and with Rin frequent visits to Sango's house to help her out with the little kids and how Sango was at the birth of the twins, it's implied that Rin is like an unofficial little sister to Kohaku and Sango.
