This conversation has touched me. It's helped me know that I am not alone in my experiences with racism and that there are people and groups and strategies to support and activate in the resistance against racism.

So glad I came across your channel, especially today. I really needed this today after watching yet another POC being killed in cold blood by a cop. Thank you for creating this wonderful channel!!🙏😊💐

Only 12 minutes in, and I love The topic of wellness and resistance. Recently, in a grad program for MFT multiple professor have said racist things but one professor in particular targeted me. Although it was a very difficult time for me I was able to file a complaint and speak with the dean and the professor lost her position. I appreciate you discussing multiple strategies, becuz multiple downed me and told me I should sue. I wasn’t prepared for that, but I did what I could by putting in a file and cooperating with the 4 month investigation. Thank you!

I can totally agree that HR can be no help at all....and will just sweep over racism as if it’s no big deal?!! I have experienced racism in the workplace & tried to talk to HR, and they did not help at all?! I don’t work at those places of employment anymore....but racism in the workplace is still prevalent and needs to be addressed!

True, I was discriminated against by my co- workers on a daily basis at my first job when I was a teen. Then I got yelled at by my pastor that I need to "get it together " and they have been through worse racism in the 50's. No-one told me that I have the power to go to HR, make a complaint and feel safe at work. I ended up quitting and I loved that job.

racism is a team effort. HR knows you are being mistreated and are often in on it. They are going to protect their friends and show them how to avoid justice

How can we talk about racial trauma without a definition for racism? Everyone doesnt have the same definition and the webster dictionary definition is the one thats taught to black people which doesnt help. Black people should never waste time trying to change a racist, instead you ask questions so you can learn and develop a code.
