Can you tell us more about the foam that you used? What exactly is it called?

A search for "Shadow Foam" should net a bunch of options both in the US and EU.

Thanks. That is expensive stuff! I think the foam costs more than the pliers! @@iansweeney1806

Great vid! I missed the live show last night. Ironically, I was finishing up final edits on my own Trace + Plate inlay video. I'm still struggling a little with the app's scan settings, but watching you guys helps... Thanks!

Perfect timing, I have a few mini systainers that I need to do foam cutouts for.

First off, let me say, I'm a big fan of what you've created. It's like you read my mind and designed the exact product I've been dreaming of. But, just like any passionate fan, I've got a couple of friendly "suggestions": 1. The "CNC Handheld" name? C'mon, we all know it's more 3-axis than 2-axis. It's like calling Superman just another journalist. 2. About the pricing - I get it, we all need to make a buck. I'm cool with the tool cost. But charging extra for bits, the “workbench”, frame, and software updates? That feels a bit like buying a car and then realizing the wheels are extra. 3. Your support team - I've seen some feedback in English, German, and Spanish. Sometimes, the responses seem a bit generic. Let's spice things up! Instead of the usual vanilla, how about some rocky road or mint chocolate chip? In conclusion, there's a good chance I'll buy your tool. But here's the tea: many of us might not be eager to go on this long-term journey with you if things stay this way. If you're eyeing the next big leap, embrace your community! Even if it means tightening the belt for a bit longer. Cheers to evolving and keeping the innovation train chugging!

I love what these tools can do, but have a question . . . I make display cases for high end handguns (i.e. engraved) and literally spend hours getting the trace around the handgun to be perfect so when the pistol insets into the case, the "pistol to case fit" is perfect. I don't think the Trace will be accurate on something as thick as a handgun so do you have any recommendations to get the perfect fit? Thank you!

Is there a trial period for Studio? Or a monthly payment. I don’t want to buy another design software unless I know it will do what I want it to do easier than the way I’m doing it now.

hmm. so I have the trace. drew an outline of something im working on, saved as SVG. when i imported the svg to fusion. the measurements of what i traced are literally double the size. what am i possibly doing wrong. scale is set to 1 . but the final just doesnt import true to size.

What kind of foam is that? You said it was dense like the systainer foam, I would love to find dense two-color foam for my rolling tool chests. Kaizen is good, but this would be much better!

@Shapertools Can you share where to get the two-color crosslinked poly? I am not having any success finding it in two-color. Or did you laminate the two colors together yourselves? Oh, and can you tell me the thickness of the product as well? Thanks so much, this is great information, and I love the sessions!

does auto pass only work on the one origin or will it work on both my machines? do i need to purchase it twice?
@Shapertools Жыл бұрын
AutoPass is tied to a particular tool so you can't use it on more than one tool simultaneously.

Insta is my go to but my challenge is that Trace is like a super charged scanner and picks up all sorts of ‘artifacts’ and even in Studio there is no simple way to clean up a scan -I think it’s time to figure out how those of us who use ipads and Apple Pencil for design work we need a hyper easy way to clean up scans -
@Shapertools11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! We always recommend using high-contrast when scanning with Trace to minimize artifacts.

I’ve just bought a shaper origin. It’s good in general. My issue is that is almost a solution to a problem that kind of exists… there’s many other ways to achieve the same outcomes in ways that already exist. I’m getting the impression that in order to get the most from this you need to have a very good understanding of some kind of programming, which is maybe not what the average trade person will engage in. The results you want almost seem just out of reach. I’ll keep studying. Please shorten you tuition videos guys!!

Hey Chris! Thank you for the feedback. We'll definitely pass it along, but if you have specific questions about Origin, don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@shapertools.com !
