you need to let some japanese engineers develope a distance measuring sensor connected to a breaking system inside of the reels. you just type in the distance you need and the reel stops by itself

red8884 the spool would have to be turning (bail arm down) as the line pays off to record any measurement...think about what you just said, its impossible...frap ups would be a certainty too

sureshotgazza1 1 nope, the blanks are rolled in Scotland for the upper end rods. Fittings are American or Japanese.
