When you're done reacting to Torchwood, you should look up the stories that John Barrowman tells about making out with James Marsters. John's quite a storyteller in general, but this a REALLY good one! :D

James Marsters is such a natural with that British accent. The fact he's actually American still amazes me.
@gaynor17215 жыл бұрын
Anthony Head (Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) taught James Marsters to talk and swear like a Brit. I agree that James has nailed the accent and convincingly sounds like a Brit, unlike David Boreanaz's attempt to sound Irish. Can't imagine Spike (BTVS) being played by anyone else.

One of the best in the series. John Hart is my second favourite Whoniverse antihero, a character type that rarely appears in the franchise. James Masters has said that he is open to returning if asked and he should. Also I like the blowfish. Design and concept of galaxy class gangsters and party animals would be fun if they appear again. They did make a couple of extra cameos in doctor who. Overall a great opening to series 2 and proof that Chibnall needs to bring back Torchwood.

Yes - great episode. This series is really where Torchwood properly comes of age and starts to blow it out the water, before it peaks in series 3. Believe me your going to absolutely adore this series. Much more great drama and many more surprises await you. I much preferred Jack's more upbeat and less dark persona in series 2, after his "year that never happened" with the Doctor and Martha.

I was waiting for your reaction to seeing James Masters and I was not disappointed.😁 The kissing scene he had with Jack was so hot. Them kissing and then fighting afterwards perfectly describes Torchwood. Your mention of Torchwood feeling more like a team perfectly describes why this series is a huge improvement over the first and I can’t wait you to delve into this. So much to look forward to. Jack asking Ianto out was sweet and Gwen confessing on having to take charge in Jack’s absence is also nice. I thoroughly believe that you’ll enjoy this series a lot!😊

The random romantic tension annoys me too (emphasis on the "random"). I feel like that scene of Jack and John kissing and fighting in the bar just sums up 'Torchwood'.

James once told a convention story about how he got cut badly when they went through the glass during the kissing/fighting scene after he and John had convinced the Production Team to let them do their own stunt. Only John noticed, told James to go to his trailer, had a quiet word with the director and made an excuse, then "he got his own personal physician to come and stitch me up, take the [blood] stain out of my costume, get me back on set; no one knew *anything*, so John is THE MAN."

It's interesting to me that they have James Marsters doing his English accent when A) that's not his natural speaking voice and B) Jack has an American accent. You'd think with him being an old friend of Jack's it would be reasonable for him to have an American accent, but they wanted JM to do an English accent anyway. He does a good accent, as far as my American ears can tell, but it just always struck me as a curious choice.
