Yet again a stunning, informative video of your narrow boat life. I, like you Marina, find myself mesmerised by the sunrise & the moon at night. I find my mind drifts off into a world of wonderment, considering how all this magnificence evolved. I am fortunate to live in the rural area of Cheshire & appreciate daily my surroundings. With little light or sound pollution, it makes my sunrises/moonrise’s so much more stunning/exhilarating. Along with this, nature adds it’s wondrous moments to ponder & be in awe of. I can’t believe we have shared 37 episodes of your wonderful videos, and, as always, I’m already looking forward to your next one. Take care, stay safe, and my very best wishes to you both. 👍🏻👌🏻💙

okay, I am barely 2 minutes into your video & I'm hooked! Where I have paused the video at so I could just tell you this you are lighting your stove discussing difficulty keeping warm. Let me give you a really cheap tip on keeping warm. It is used here in the United States Northern areas to keep warm and it was very popular at the turn of the century clear up to the 60's. For each of you buy a piece of sandstone about 12"x12" and about 2" thick. On each piece you will want to drill a small hole about 1" deep just off the center line and install a sturdy piece of wire just big enough so that the wire has enough room for you to pick up the stone with a hot bad holder or mitten. Set these sand stone pieces on top of your wood stove and let them warm up to your desired temp and then you can set them in a towel in the bed at night to keep your feet toasty warm or place them on a rug & chill with your feel on a nice warm surface. If you were to get one larger, you could use it to stand on top of when it is cold out to help keep feet warm while traveling. Other than the cost of the soap stone, it is a way to keep warm that doesn't cost any extra to heat an area. It is all captured heating source.

Good Nz morning Marina and Myles. That first narrow boat you rescued is called "Kakariki" which is a beautiful native parakeet from down here. Google the info. I have heard of at least two other NZrs who own boats which are used during northern summer. I just hope this wasn't the case in this incident, and because of C19 lock down and being winter, they prevented from sorting it out. So on behalf of the unknown owners, thank you for the rescue. Back to Alba, I'm so glad you're taking us on this trip. And glad you're doing it in the countryside. When we hired one, back in 2008, we were advised to hire from a company who's canal choices are set in the country. NO to cities. Why? Because a city is a city is a city. Boring. Crime, vandalism etc. To boats. Love your channel guys. And your smiles in this mad world. Virtual hugs from down here. Take care and stay safe. Atb. Keep smiling.

When you have lots of cables , and extension cables and plugs, my suggestion ( and what i do ) is to get some of those small plastic ziplock bags and pack in each bag and label them as to what each one does . Then either place them back in the drawer or place them in a small plastic lidded box ( i bought some from Wilkinsons) and place them in a cupboard, one that you would use all the time for storage . this not only saves you having to resort the same drawer every time it gets messy , but also means you dont have to sort through cables getting tangled. I do the same for light bulbs , batteries and small tools etc .

Have you been through stratford upon avon yet. I work in the river up here. People pulling pegs 😑 you two are a blessing rescuing those boats. another good story I heard up here was from a hire boat company. The company got a phone call from one of its rentals saying they were sinking. When the engineer turned up he found the husband had got back cover off the weed hatch open and was bailing it back into the cannal 😂😂or the family who rang up saying problem getting fresh water. Engineering turned up and they had the hose running from the tap inside the boat to the water tank😂😂😂tourists hope that makes up for the peg pullers

Nice work in the bathroom. I’ve commented before about there not being a lot of secure mooring places on the K&A (Armco or rings) and that the wild mooring is super soft ground. Pins are easily worked loose by speeding boaters’ especially if boats are unmanned and not checked. I’ve no doubt that the pins have worked loose because of this and not foul play.
@jtothew42013 жыл бұрын
Seems like the type of thing like a big cork screw you buy to tie a dog to would be useful in soft ground like this.
@paullowden16433 жыл бұрын
@@jtothew4201 some boaters’ had right angled pins that were pushed into the ground up to the 90 degree bend. Those pins seemed to work well.
